I own exactly one TRS-25.............can't remember if it's even mounted on anything. Bought it for Cindy's bow. Took if off, since she hasn't used the bow for over ten years. Bushnell is akin to Lee to me............ya get what ya pay for. Never had a scope/sight from them that survived. What I recall, is the rheostat was a bear to turn and even at the lowest setting, it was too bright, for low light. Might be alright for a 22 LR.
Big fan of Trijicon. Been using their products since the early 80's. Customer support is fantastic. Have had many tritium elements re-lamped, over the years. I own a half dozen of their products. If they can't re-lamp a Trijicon
branded optic, they'll send a new model free of charge. I have a full size reflex that had the chevron reticle they couldn't re-lamp. They replaced it with the current triangle model and returned the one I sent in for re-lamping. As a result, I have an extra that works in daylight but not in low/no light.
My first experience with Trijicon was with their Armson OEG's. Used by the South African Military IIRC. They were a 4 minute tritium lit, 1" tube dot sight that you couldn't see through. One eye picked up the dot, the other eye, superimposed it on the target. Once mastered, it was fast and capable of hitting a silhouette in almost no ambient light. They were inexpensive, ($109).............I had six of them mounted on handguns, shotguns and bows. I had them re-lampled about every ten years, until Trijicon didn't support them any more.
That began my foray into replacements. Was almost impossible to find any dot sight, except for Ultra Dot, that mounted in 1" rings. The OEG's still work in ambient light, but not in low light. Hence they aren't used on deer hunting equipment. Ultra Dots were used on the two bows because of the aftermarket scope mounting requirement of 1" rings. Coming from a full automatic sight to a manual one was not something I relished. As a result, I tried out a lot of other products............most all have had their failings.
