Paste Wax Phoenix?

I never really questioned whether it was paste wax in general which had been discontinued, or specifically Johnson's.

I want to get my mitts on a can of this stuff and SMELL and FEEL it. I used actual Johnson's ("JPW") for my batch of 45-45-10 (12 years ago and still using it), even though I had Minwax brand paste wax on hand. I learned of this lube on the big site and folks there seemed adamant that JOHNSON's was the one to use, so I bought some.

The Minwax I have and have been using on furniture projects for 30+ years is stiffer than the JPW I bought and much lighter in color - a tan color.

I have no idea if this has the same properties as the Johnson's, but if it does, we may have a source for paste wax. I personally believe it should work at least as well and maybe take less time to cook off the solvents, because it's not as gooey as the JPW. Myself, I think I'll buy my next batch of 45-45-10, but I use paste wax for a lot of things and another can or two sitting here won't hurt anything.

Ben’s Liquid Lube is much easier to make and in my opinion better than 45-45-10.

Of course you can buy 45-45-10 ready made if easy is most important. But I still like Ben’s better.

Johnson's also discontinued the One Step liquid floor wax. Anything with VOCs is going the way of the Dodo bird on account of big companies kissing the EPA's ass.

Ben’s Liquid Lube current formula uses a different but similar liquid floor wax. Still works, still easy to mix.
I haven’t used the new stuff because I still have Johnson’s One Step, enough to last me a lifetime.

Ben may pipe in and tell us the name of the new stuff. Or maybe one of you guys.

There is a following for the Johnson’s One Step liquid wax by the wood floor people. The NOS prices on ebay are quite high, and it ain't us bullet casters running the price up.
I have a pine floor that is finished, in one room of my house, I tried some Johnson’s One Step on a spot, seems like great stuff, but I can't imagine spending $80 a can for floor wax? But I also can't imagine spending $80 for a brick of primers either and they ain't discontinued...yet.

Money doesn't mean anything anymore to 75% of the people.

And, not because the HAVE it or are confident in paying it back if they borrow it!

I'd love to see some real numbers, but I'd bet most of the primers bought at scalper's prices over the past few years still aren't actually PAID FOR - went on the card or home equity line of credit. Maybe I'm the idiot, but if I don't have the cash, I don't buy it.

well the thing is, for the last week of 2023, the price of primers went up.

In november the federal 150s i bought went from 89.99 / 1000 to 130$/1000. The south american primers went up 50% as well for that last week of 2023. Then the "official primer and powder and component price hike of 2024" didnt completely appear and things dropped down.
