Hmmmm. The LCR Goes S/A. :)

I wonder if Ruger will go "Convertible" with this revolver line, and add a 22 Win Mag RF swap cylinder. I have been yammering around about getting a hunting-type 22 Mag wheelgun for a couple years, and can't make my mind up about the matter.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Ruger is really exceeding the status quo in ugly guns. Must be this is intended to compete with the Heritage Rough Riders?

They do nothing for me. In a wheelgun, I want DA option and adjustable sights. I've been mulling over two other Ruger 22 caliber lightweight options:

https://ruger.com/products/markIV2245Lite/specSheets/43927.html

Retail price for either is within $50 of each other. There are things I like about both. I'm LH and now the MK IV is ambidextrous. My MK II Target isn't, nor is it takedown friendly. I also like the included rail, if I wanted to mount red dot sight.

Never owned a 22 revolver........would be advantageous for introducing a novice to handgun shooting. Concerned about the inherent accuracy of a revolver over the semi.................hard to get the stars to align, with regards to barrel and cylinder, eight times. However, I do like my LCR 357 Mag. Great out of the box trigger and very user friendly sights.

Decisions, decisions...................

Yeah, I know..................however, I do have a LH leather belt holster to fit that 3" barrel.

confused-face-smiley-emoticon.gif I'll bring over a 22 revolver for you to shoot, guaranteed to change your tune about revolver accuracy.

Yeah, but it won't be a DA...................and it sure won't be lightweight. :headbang:
Ever shot a Smith 22 Kit Gun? Stick in on a belt and forget it's there. Capable small game accuracy to 25 yards which is about all I trust a 22 long rifle for from a 4" barrel ballistically speaking.

Looking at this logically if I were interested in getting a concealed carry piece yes, it would be a revolver but there is no chance it would be a 22. Given that why would I care that my 22 revolver isn't DA or lightweight? Hhmmm . . . It does do exactly what I bought it for, extreme accuracy to 100 yards.

True enough on both counts because it will be a REAL revolver.

No, it would be a carbine, without a butt stock. :p

No, and they don't make it for @ $400 anymore.

:headscratch:No one mentioned CC piece. As you are aware, I have many options ranging from 38 SPL to 44 SPL, and everything in between. Heavy, on the 9mm's. I consider 38 Spl the minimum caliber for CC.

A light weight 22 would be for plinking and walking around on my 57 acres.

I've got a S&W model 63, stainless, 4" barrel (I think) in .22 LR. Had it since the late 80s.
Double action, accurate and fun to shoot. Just too slow to load when an 8 year old is shooting it.
I got an 80s production of a heavy barrel, Target Ruger Mark IV and a bunch of magazines.

I agree--ugly as they are, the Ruger LCRs shoot easily and shoot well. An LCR in 22 WMR with 4" barrel and adjustable sights would be well-nigh perfect. So too would be a re-intro'd Model 51 x 4". The world at large wants more than 38/357 snubguns. S&W and Ruger need to get a clue.

These Wranglers don't move me --at all. The Single-Six variants are quite affordable as-is, and their finish is light-years better.

A nice light weight camp/hiking 22 revolver that can take some honest outdoor abuse with no fancy finish to worry about or sights that can be bumped and moved. What's not to like. I can buy three of these for the cost of one Single Six.

I'm guessing this has an aluminum frame and grip frame to hold costs down. Painted finish is
cheaper, too. Probably powder coated. If it is accurate, it should be a good one.

Yes aluminum frame, and a Cerekote finish.
Those range reports are impressive for sure.
