well you could squish the 6mm bullets up to 6.5 no problem, unfortunately a die set [or just the point form die] is gonna cost a lot more than those 6.5 bullets... if you can find one,,,,,,, and don't need a press to go along with it.
buddy come by with his wife today, he showed me a handful of bullets he cast with my mold.
I just looked at 2 of them without my glasses on and told him to go home and try again.
he says well,, will they shoot?
yeah they'll go down the barrel [shrug] then I pointed to a target sitting on the floor and asked if he wanted groups like those or??
his wife was like just,, throw them back.
I loaned him my thermometer and told him how to set his dial, then explained the cold mold thing again, then gave him one of the bullets from that mold that I had on hand and showed him the difference between a slightly galvanized look and shiny, and flipped on the scale to show him the weight difference.
his alloy is much too hot, and the mold is about 25-30F below where it needs to be.
once I explained less alloy temp and maintaining mold temp through speed [for the second time] I think it's starting to settle in.
I guess next will be sprue size and real time cycles.
