I bottom pour and do not like the HP retaining system on the bottom of the mould. Have exactly one of NOE's RG moulds and it's the last. Recently signed up for a MP group buy, that went to last call..............will see how long it's going to take. I'm hoping it's here by late summer, so I can use it for the fall hunting season.
Miha has given the green light to run a very popular 44 magnum bullet. The .432/.434 245-250 grain wide flat nose.
This buy is For a MiHec edition of the classic LBT "type" 44 magnum bullet in a popular weight range of 245-250 grains. He is currently working the final design and the attached photo is for reference only. As always he puts his own spin on popular designs.

The intended use for this boolit will my Marlin 1894 carbine. I'm going with .434 diameter. It will be replacing NOE's 265 RNFP solid that I currently use for deer hunting. The last several deer I've shot have given poor to non-existant blood trails.....making recovery difficult to impossible........even with the large meplat designs. I'm basically a bow hunter and as such, I have a strong tendency to aim just to the rear of the front shoulder. Plus, I don't like to damage any more meat than necessary.
The large buck I took a shot at last November morning, I failed to recover. The misses and I, searched for four hours and found not one drop of blood, or tuft of hair, or even a turned up leaf. Shot was about 65 yards. Load was 16 grains of 2400, going 1530 fps. Bullet was 12-13 BHN. Buck was broadside and bucked like a bronco, at the shot. Took off into seven foot tall Johnson grass which I lost sight of, after the first leap.
Spent the majority of the time, looking for sign from the direction he appeared. Then the opposite....when non was to be found. Gave up around noon, temps were heading to the mid 60's and we both had a 2 PM dental appointments.
Well we found the buck, a couple of weeks ago, on one of our woods walks. This ten point went the opposite direction before it collapsed upright about 200 yards away from the shot. BTW, we didn't start tracking until 40 minutes elapsed. Giving the deer plenty of time to lay up.
