On sale, boneless and skinless chicken thighs. Which I bought knowing full well that wife doesn't like thighs for her, strange reasons? So she ain't getting any,no ways.

Bout 1/2 dz of them. Threw'm in our smallish crock pot along with a can of heart healthy cream of chicken, some celery, onion flakes , garlic powder, some fresh ground black pepper, little parsley and thyme(KFC cheater spice).Gonna cook them all day and tonight, make dumplings.

I must be doing something right diet wise cause, got bloodwork done the other day and LDL was 130,and HDL at 60.

Alcoholic in-law left this morning. Got to clean out the commode that he stopped up & re-adjusted all the commode plumbing he changed! New trick, use the wet/dry shop vac to suck out the garbage. Vac out the h2O, towel around the nozzle and turn it on. Actually worked when plunger and rooter didn't.

I saw that trick after visiting several DIY pumbing sites, no credit here. Sister-I-L came to visit wife, her son and GKs, after finishing rectal cancer treatments that hubby would not take her to. Sat. he 'threw out' his back putting gas in the car. You get the idea!

family pictures this morning.
some of us under dressed, and some were over dressed,,, typical for how we do everything.

I skipped the tuna fish sandwich lunch and went shooting, after the 'I thought you were dead', and 'who is the new guy' jokes we settled in for some shooting.
I guess it's been a while... LOL
didn't miss any targets though, so the jokes stopped early.

Today's fun was to pull the 45 ACP/AR dies out of the Ponsness-Warren P-200 and replace them with the 44 Magnum die set, using the NIB steel sizer die. NO COKE-BOTTLED CASES. Sized & lubed 100 of the Lyman #429421s @ .431", got the dies tweaked-in and began the 100-round run to refill W-W brass with 8.0 grains of WW-231 for about 950 FPS. Got about 20 rounds processed and came to a good place to stop, and left things ready for a re-start in the mid-morning tomorrow. I watched the end of the Rams/Bears game, Rams pulled out a win, and closed up the Reloading Habitat for the night.

Got a little wood done after church. Haven't really been to church in 6 months. Same garbage that caused me to stop is still going on. Probably will be until the current minister leaves this spring. Really sad to see. Also fixed the drive "wheel" on that old snowblower. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. 2 bearings at the end of a shaft I had to remove were pretty dried out and stiff, seals gone. I have no idea on the model of machine I have here, so I did the farmers tricks of injecting grease into the bearing race with a needle type grease fitting. It'll work for now and I can add more pretty easily. Bearing run nice and smooth now.

It was a gorgeous mid-winter day here yesterday, except it's fall, not winter!

Moxie--my long-departed idiot German Shorthair Pointer--was to skunks what I was to high fastballs and red-haired women--never found one we didn't like, and couldn't do one thing right once action commenced with them. Moxie was a wonderful quail and chukar hunter, didn't mind picking up doves, and was 1 for 1 on pheasants (DANG, BOSS--THEY ARE BIG!). Moxie was so consistently bad about skunks that I didn't install camper shells on my pickups during the time we had her (1995-2002) because of her need for post-encounter open-air transport to the back yard for decontamination. She was a complete and comprehensive IDIOT as far as skunks were concerned.

Ahhh, red-headed females. Had a cheerleader/clarinet player/cross-country runner version of that for a couple of years in high school. Screwed up my whole equilibrium for quite a few years. After sampling the whole spectrum, it turns out that a little dark brunette of Hungarian descent was the fo'-evah choice. Blondes are nice, but kinda boring and not much on the table. Redheads....it's ALL on the table ALL the time. Brunettes....it's all UNDER the table, so watch your six!

Two things no dog can resist: Skunks and porcupines.
Growing up, living in a lake home, Our family dog (black Lab) had a fish fetish. She would wade through shallow water along a dock, or along a parked boat tied to the dock, or under the dock during low water...and try to catch fish with her mouth.
BUT mostly, she like to find dead fish that were washed ashore and then roll in them.

My current lady (brunette Spanish lass) is WONDERFUL, and an absolute joy to my heart. My only regret is not having found her 20 years sooner than I did.

When you finally find the right one, it's cause for celebration every day.
Mine comes from the opposite side of the planet, is nearly a generation younger, and we have so much in common it is down right spooky.
