One of my best tool investments was my Stihl Kombi-Tool. It is a 4 stroke power head without a crank case so you use a gas oil mix, which also gives me synthetic oil residue to use on my bullet moulds and other things.
I rarely buy new tools, I usually buy older used items and have plenty of luck...BUT...
In 2001, I bought a new $400 Stihl MS360 Pro Chain saw (62cc) and with the amount of wood that it has cut in the last two decades, it surely is the Best tool investment ever, it still runs great and hasn't needed to be rebuilt yet. A new version of this saw in today's world is 750 to 800 bucks (MS362 Pro).

Soaking wet here. I cleaned the shop/garage and made a storage thingy for the cordless, pistol shaped tools. That 1/2" impact hurts when it falls off the shelf and lands on your foot! Probably doesn't do much for the tool either. Discovered my Drill Dr 750 was missing. Seems Gord decided to take it to welding class to show his instructor without asking. So I took Gords favorite play toy, his motor sickle. Seems fair to me, and at least I told him what I was doing, which is all he would have had to do to get my permission to take the Drill Dr to class! Also fixed a storage bin thing you can sit on, forget the proper name, but it's a bench with a back and storage under the seat. Ugly thing that was gifted to us, perfect for the mud room. Located my wifes cat that escaped while she was off on her goat buying excursion. Now we have to trap the stupid thing. Scared to death of people she tells me, lives in her room and ventures no further. Not much of a pet IMO, but I don't care for cats anyway. She's under the foundation. The Havaheart is set and my wife is just happy she's not coyote food.

If it keeps raining like this I may start on an Ark.
Settle Bench Brett; it's called a Settle Bench.

Swapped a Savage barrel before work tonight .
The 65' , 22" fast twist 30-06' is now a nominal slow twist 24" 7×57 .
That other 2" of barrel looks like a foot . :)

The Polish Radom deal was this morning...only took four hours, LOL.

It started last week by a email conversation with my friend wanting a batch of 9mm Luger brass from my big sort, he wanted all with same Headstamp, I had 1650 of "CBC", which I wasn't gonna use. I've found CBC has thicker case walls and is problematic when loading Fat cast bullets. I told him this, but he plans to load Jacketed bullets and said it's fine. I mention the Mankato gunshow this weekend. He asks me about that particular show, as he wants to bring a handfull of guns and walkaround trying to sell them. It's a Crocodile Productions show and I tell him that I'm not sure they allow that anymore, but they use to. I ask what guns he wants to sell? All I heard him say was, "blah, blah, Polish Makarov, blah, blah." I say, "how much for the Makarov?"

That led to today's visit with the Gun, paper manual, two original Polish Mags, three holsters, three boxes of S&B ammo, and one box of Hornady self-defense ammo, and a bunch of spent brass...and a set of unused Lee carbide dies.

I am not knowledgeable of the P-64. The slide moves smoothly and fits like well made machine parts and not loose/wobblily like other foreign military type semi-autos I've owned. It sure is nice feeling in my hand, and overall it looks to have excellent fit and finish. All the numbers match, including the numbers on one Mag.

The price he quoted me was just under the price of one currently on Gunbroker, that only included the gun with one Mag and no extra goodies. We were both happy with the deal.

BTW, the black leather pancake holster is a custom one that was hand fit to this particular gun...I guess they aren't cheap?

I really like the machined checkering on top of the slide (non glare feature).

This morning, After I got the second Covid shot, I then took the P-64 to the range with the first few ugly Lee 95gr bullets loaded with Power Pistol powder. The same charge as I load for my SIL (4.2gr), but instead of Tumble lube I did for him, I used the Star with SL68B, sized to .366

A chilly 45º, humid, cloudy and calm. The ground was wet and muddy from recent rain/snow. Shoot'n it at 50 feet, off hand, I was getting pretty good groups (4 to 5") from the small gun.

This thing packs a wallop (hurt my hand, not fun to shoot), and launches the brass farther than anything I ever shot before. I set up near a clear area, to recover my brass...I only found 6 pcs :( I noticed extractor marks on case head of those I found, that felt like sharp burrs. It appears that the ejected last round casing only goes about 20 feet (the ones I found), The rest were launched into the brushy sidelines of the range, that has a thick layer of Oak leaves...about 50 feet away  I'm glad I used some marginal cases for these first "test" loads, I gotta figure out some sort of brass catcher/stop, if this comes to the range again.

I also brought some factory S&B ammo along, and it shot the same, so I know my loads weren't too hot. Oh, and the Mag release sucks too, hurt my knuckle. The slide spring seemed extra heavy too. I started feeling tired, achy and washed out, so I drove home. While driving, I start thinking that the second Covid shot is hitting me a little harder than the first one. Then I start wondering if that made shooting that pistol not very fun? ...or maybe it was the cold weather? I'll try it another day, just to see.

Sorry, no photos from the range today :( So I quoted the old post with photos of gun.

Staring at hours worth of work it will take to kill the weeds growing in all of my gravel areas and willing it to take care of itself. It's not working...

I hate yard work. Glad the back yard is fully wooded and causes me little grief. Helps having my wife mow too.

I'll have been married for 23 years come July. I've seen my wife touch the lawn mower only a handful of times and these were all to just get it out of her way. Yard work of any kind, she does not.

I got so sick of hand spraying the driveways and my gravel road I bought a tank sprayer to mount on the rear rack of my ATV. Worked wonderfully.

Hit the river probably the last time for this Spring's walleye run. I wasn't keeping fish and my partner only wanted three. We made two trolling runs, landing 13 fish and threw all but 3 walleyes and a sauger back. Over cast 44 degrees, NNW wind, not too strong. Nobody else out on the river other than one commercial fisherman and a tow barge. An eagle took a small floating fish about 30' from the port gunwale.

Feel your pain! My newly sodded yard is overrun with Dallas grass. SUCKS! I am about ready to diesel fuel it and start over! I DID spray 2 gal worth of concentrated Roundup yesterday!

^^^^^^100% ACCURATE!

I was perusing my latest blood panel results and my blood lead level is 1 (one) µg/dL. PPE and common sense goes a long way.

Hah! Kept thinking mine was due to bullet lead etc. Then, after the latest read, I was reaching in the cabinet for the bourbon - in a 24% lead crystal decanter! - and had a BFO (Blinding Flash of the Obvious!)! Figured out where my lead was coming from. Doc said 'No Worries, people been drinking bourbon out of lead decanters for centuries, and no reported deaths due to...!" HAD to laugh at that one! AND love my Doc!

I really cannot recommend Ian's resolution to CW's medical situation. It DID make sense for me in Nov. 2018, but that was a unique sitch.
