Sorry, I was hurrying to post (as the wife was getting impatient to go food shopping) and I uploaded the wrong photo. I added the one I meant to post and left the original as the second photo. JimE's thoughts on the 30-40 reamer not being able to clean out a 30-06 chamber looks to be correct with the shiny versus dark black transition in the chamber.

This morning, I put a piece of brass in the chamber and closed the bolt. It is interesting to see the throat with the brass case in place that the start of the rifling.

A couple weeks ago I had an ultrasound of my heart done at the cardiologist office. It is interesting to see your heart beating inside your chest and seeing your own heart valves open and close while you lay there talking to the tech. And now with this bore scope, I can inspect and see the innards of my rifles. I had better get a white lab coat for myself now.

For less than $100, this was a good purchase in my estimation. My old endoscope only had VGA resolution, and with no mirror set was practically useless. The solid rod on this Teslong is much easier to run in and out of the bore than my old one with the flexible lead.

My eyesight is not very good and it is hard for me to see close up. It was an education looking in the bore of this rifle to see how badly it is pitted. I need to pull out a modern rifle out of the safe and give it a go with the bore scope. It has been a lot of years since a birthday present brought this much fun.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
On the ring and whatever cause is it, I wonder if polishing that area would help or maybe raining? Oh Lord I hate talk to text, reaming!
