The K-31's front sight, with its inward-turning protective ears, made me feel like I had Jerry Colonna's eyes. The Garand's rear sight elevation adjustment is an excellent improvement over that of the 03A3's, which requires a screwdriver.

Sad to say I had no idea who Jerry Colonna was, but I get it now if you mean the entertainer, and I've never shot an M1. I'll take your word that it's better if there's no screw driver needed. ;)

Sorry, a screw driver isn't required, at least for most people. The screw you see on the aperture only holds the spring detent. You can slide the aperture up and down with your fingers. The spring then locks the slide in position.

Not many at Trevor’s age are going to be able to keep up with him at the shooting sports.
You can tell he loves to do it too.

I guess that shows how long it's been since I hunkered down behind an '03-A3. I was really looking hard for one when my USMC marked '03 popped up. For a Jarhead, well, I just had to have it.
