I do the same thing with Open Sights/Peep Sights, just a larger Target so i can see it. This was TOUGH on me to See this Target this Day, lighting, Everything has to be perfect. The Bullets here were my 540 Grain Buffalo Arms Elliptical’s Cast of 1-20 Alloy

Same 600 Yards, But with a Sidelock Muzzleloader, and Open Sights, My Home Cast 540 Grain Elliptical Bullet, 80 or 85 Grains of Swiss 2F Blackpowder

Great shooting. I can't resolve much of anything to shoot at 600 yd.

My bullets are Right at 32 Feet above the Target at the Highest Point in the Trajectory Rainbow in the Above Videos.

I enjoy Shooting this Long Range Stuff, I don’t agree with Hunting at these Distances Though, it is just NOT an Ethical thing to do! To many things can go Wrong at these Distances, and as a Hunter we Owe it to the Game we pursue to Take them as Cleanly, and Efficiently as Possible! I keep this Long Stuff on Targets, it’s a LOT of Fun to Test me and my Equipments Ability, The real Challenge is learning the Holds (MOA required to get there)

LOL!! I should have mentioned in the Video, That is the DEAD END of that Old Rd, Not more than 60 Yards Around that Burm, The rd comes to an Abrupt End. I drive out and Set my Target and turnaround at the End, So there is NO WAY anyone could be out there without me Knowing It’s Safe!! But i can see how it could look not so in the Video.

I am Far Northern Idaho, Priest River Area to be Exact

I don't know about my little 16' boat making no river run.
but the lake it could handle, and I'm sure some river spots would be okay.

Nothing to it Fiver, Your 16’ Boat would be RIGHT AT HOME on this Water, This Pend Oreille River is like a BIG LONG Lake, It barely moves, NO KIND of Rapids, No Rough Water at ALL, Most of it doesn’t even look like it’s Moving, and that’s All 20-25 Miles of it, From Sandpoint, To Newport Wa Where there is a Dam. There is a Nice BIG Launch Right here Within a few minutes of my House. There are Lots of Sloughs, Little Tributaries, etc. off this Pend Oreille River.

sounds like it would do just fine.
i'll definitely stay off the 1100 foot parts though...LOL.
I'm gonna have to put the google-fu to work on this some more.
I was gonna scoot over to lake Walcott but it might be worth waiting until late June/mid-july and coming up that direction instead.

Have you seen this Fiver? New state record Small Mouth Bass caught here on the Pend Oreille River, 22 inches Long. I know exactly where this is at, this guy is from right here in PR, He looks Familiar, but I don’t know him? Note the River Behind him, That is the Pace it Flows, GENTLE

22 with probably 15-16"s of girth is a big girl. [7? lbs]
judging from the picture.

I'm in the 3-1/2 lb range as the biggest one so far down here and I have worked for it over a few years.
of course the growing season is maybe 2 months long so I figure that fish was probably 10 years old.

you know I think I seen that picture but didn't read the story.
I knew it wasn't from anywhere around here so it's hard to get excited about... LOL.

if I can swing it I'd be more than happy for some company, I know you guys do it a bit different than we do down here and sharing some different techniques would maybe help both of us.
I keep it real simple as far as tackle and gear, but it seems to work for me, if there's bass or crappie around I manage to find one or two of them somehow.
