Quite so.

E-mailed Lee and their reply was to mail them the press and all its priming accessories. Nope, that's not going to happen.

Mine seats them just fine. But getting one into the cup from the Pez dispenser is the trick.

I never bought the feeder system, nor do I want to. Instead, I manually put the primer directly into the cup when the ram is in the down position, then raise the ram enough to slip a case into the shell holder, then lower it to seat the primer. Two seconds and done. That's with large primers only, because of the above mentioned problem with small promers.

I prime off press with a Lee hand priming tool and verify it is seated below flush with a straight edge to avoid high primers and any primer feeding problems on the press. I do the priming while watching TV with the family.

I sometimes do trimming that way. Trimmer is on a plywood base, and it sits in a lid from a office
storage box, basically 12x18 corrugated box lid with 2" tall sides, keeps chips contained. Pour in brass to the lid,
and put a coffee "can" (plastic now) for the trimmed brass. Trim, deburr and drop in the can.
Mindless, fine for watching TV. dump the brass chips out of the lid afterwards, no mess.

Free Bullet and I worked at trying to get the Lee priming gizmo to
function proberly. He is one of those guys who is a wisbang of a
guy on figuring how to make something work. He gave up after
an hour. I pick up the primers by hand as a result, and never looked
back. Think Rube Goldberg designed the Lee prime system for
the 4 holer!

I think you got one of the early ones with the triangular tray, IIRC. Mine's in the trash. The first model and current models work great for me, even with small primers.

Ben I like your powder delivery system. With your mounting system I could use my Little Dandy, Uni-flow or my 55. Great idea, and simple.
The Lee priming system works great on my Classic.

Ian, I will try the new primer set up based on your recommendation. They have as a pkg one for small and one for large primers for 30 bucks that I think I may order out and try.

Paul, these are from the set I bought from Midway earlier this year to go with the new 4-hole progressive. The first triangle tray version didn't have raised, red lettering on them and they were JUNK. I think the trays and dispensers are improved now. It isn't the best priming system or even my favorite but it works well for me.

Bill those are the first kind with the little teats cast into the tray for a flipper, best orimer flipper EVER. I have a set ofbthose and they have served me very well. Being frustrated with the early triangle tray junk I sought some of the original ones but couldn't find any. Out of desperation I bought another set of the triangle tray ones with intent to retrofit the trays to the old Pro-1000 style of which I have an abundance, but they worked well enough so I just keep using them. I think the chutes and dispensers are a slightly improved design too.

Sounds like there are about 4 generations of this setup. I'd consider purchasing just the small primer model
if I knew it was an improved one that would actually work.
I wonder what would happen if I mailed the bad one to Lee with a letter of explanation?

I whole heartedly agree with Ian that the tiny pins/tits or whatever as a primer flipper is the best
EVER. My newest hand Lee primer has the same flipper pins. Unfortunately the lid is held on with
little plastic arms which broke off in about a month. Fortunately, a rubber band holds the lid on just
fine. The silly two stage "safety feed" is a PITA, though. But it does work if you are careful. I never had
any trouble with the original Lee hand primers, but apparently some folks managed to set of
primers.

Lee had the best hand primer out there with the old round tray model. Once they “redesigned” the hand primer it was all downhill.

I need to make another priming lever for the old one and send it to Ian. With I could do brass casting.

I enjoyed your video. Starting with a sized & primed case is great. I do much the same for the 30-30. And that one hand thing is a challenge. I do my shooting videos the same way.
