Amizon and a pellet order!

I ordered 500 17 cal Daisy pellets from Amizon. A box containing 500 17 cal pellets is about 1x1x2". They just came in a box that was 6x8x5", with a lot of packing. The pellets were 4.50 or so, and shipping was free. They were really well packed however. Must be they don't have any small shipping boxes.

That's a lot better than my usual luck, which involves over-paying for standard ground shipping and receiving an item packed in a box that would hold 20 of same item, plus adequate cushioning material.

Last November, I ordered some stuff from Amazon. One item was a automotive snow brush/ice scraper, about 3' long. All the items I ordered qualified for free shipping. The snow brush was a clearance deal for $8.00 I would normally buy it locally, but in MN, November is the season for nutty pricing on winter stuff, the same brush was $20 at the auto-parts store. For some reason, they shipped the snow brush separate, it came in a real nice box, the size you'd ship a rifle in.

The one I still marvel over is the several different orders for individual smartphone cases my wife has received direct from China...delivered to our house in Texas...in under two weeks...for a TOTAL cost of $3 each time.

Ian, China has different (cheaper) postal rates, and I am inclined to believe that they have a more efficient (non unionized) postal system.

Looked at mailing a postcard from Italy last week.

Decided that $2.50 to mail a postcard that would get home well after I did was not a good
deal.

Postal rates are not rational.
