An Afternoon of Ben’s Red

My lubrisizer finally ran out of lube last night and all I found in my lube stash was a couple of tubes of that black Lyman moly lube. Not wanting to start with moly, I gathered up the ingredients for Ben’s Red that I had been saving up and made a batch, with my curious granddaughter’s help ( from a safe distance). It went very smoothly. I used the trick of grinding off the outer ring of the red tacky grease and pushed it out with a small board. Neat trick! Now to cut it up and melt enough to pour into my sizer.

That looks great.:):):)
A lot of shooting will come from the contents of that pan ! !

My mixture turns out fairly firm to the touch, but is still slightly sticky. I know this is not a definitive answer. I melt a small amount and pour into my lubrisizer. At room temperature it flows good. During the cold winter months my loading room gets cooler than downstairs (64 - 68 degrees), so I fire up my Lube heater for a few minutes then turn it back off.

It is a fairly soft lube, flows with no heat.
I added some micro wax to mine so it held together a bit better in the grooves because I store bullets in a pile in a container.
Never had an issue with BR in shooting.
