My wife & I wish to purchase a side by side. I don't want to spend a fortune but do have two concerns, the noise & heat level in the cab. The less the better. Any help with this is appreciated. Thanks guys..............Lynn

DONT buy a Polaris RZR.

GREAT MACHINE!! But NOT QUIET AND CAN BE HOT! Coolant runs up tunnel between seats and engine is directly behind seats...

We love it, but cause you mentioned noise and heat...

Yah but you can park on a 90* and it doesn't roll.
That's gotta count for something.

We only have a quad. So no help.
But our polaris with independent suspension rides better than a solid axle.

The dog and Chevy, too.

This is my 2017 Polaris Ranger 570 EFI

Fully enclosed cab. Fold down windshield. Brush guard, winch and optional plow mount. Metal blade plow. No heater or radio.

I have 57 wooded acres, with trail system, I put in. Also have a very wide circular cement drive and at least another 100 yards of gravel drive, from the highway, down to the house. Last week, we got over a foot of snow, with temperatures in the low single digits. Plow handled all the snow, without issue, didn't even need chains. Just put it in 4 wheel and go. I started of with a down jacket and gloves but had them off, after a short while. Must have been some engine heat, keeping the cab comfortable, in the freezing temps. I don't notice the heat during our hot summer months........I never remove the doors. Just fold down the windshield and bungie cord the doors wide open.

I didn't purchase the machine for pleasure. I use it for work. Besides the plow, I bought a 45 gallon sprayer for weed control. I also put in a small food plot, in the early Fall. I have a disc plow, made by Bad Dawg for working the plot. Which brings to mind, the 2" receiver hitch, required for the disc plow and my Hitch Hauler carrier. I use the carrier to take my self propelled mower to the far end of the property to mow the other gated entrance. Also come in handy hauling deer out of the woods............no need to lift the carcass up into the manual dump bed.

Every few years, I order a truck load of gravel, for the driveway maintenance. Load the bed, about half full (500# weight limit) to relocate/spread the gravel. Friend has a wood burning fireplace and I let him cut any dead hardwood trees on the property. We use the Polaris for hauling the rounds out of the woods.

As far as noise goes, I don't think it's any louder than the competition. Granted, I'm not the one to ask, since I need hearing aids.

I selected the Polaris, because we had a dealer in the area and because of the 2" receiver hitch. You'd be surprised at how rare that size is. Kawasaki mules, I looked at, didn't offer nothing but the smaller ones. Artic Cat was second on my list. That dealer, closed it's doors, not long after.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Absolutely, positively DO NOT even consider the Coleman brand SxS sold at TSC, or any of the Hisun products. I believe they are also sold under the Cub Cadet and other badges. We (my wife) bought one 7/4/19. 2-3 trips over the next 10 months to a "warranty center" for problems related to fuel injectors. It was babied. In late May of 20 it just stopped. It spent over 5 months at the "warranty center" shop ( a local small engine place) with me emailing Coleman (you can't call them!) weekly and eventually threatening legal action (as if I had the $ for that!) until the shop finally said it was ready. It wasn't fixed and I just took it to another shop 75 miles away that hopefully can repair the issue. It's probably a computer issue, but who knows? The basic machine is okay, but the electronics are junk and they are horrible to work on. There's no bypassing the electronics either. They come with a lot of what are extra cost features, but they just aren't worth the risk.

Artic Cat did shut down but the same owners have brought it back. It is now marketed under the Tracker brand. Same company as Bass Pro boats. Yes there is a dealer in town where I bought my Tracker ATV.

Drove past a new dealer, in town. yesterday. Something, called NEXT, something or the other. Brand new building, on north side of HWY 62, almost across from the old Artic Cat dealer. Bunch of racing type machines, out in front. Couldn't tell what brand. Need to stop in and see what they are selling.

I noticed that place also. Almost stopped to take a look. Almost. I don't need any new toys so . . .

I've been thinking about a SxS but some States have regulated trails where your SxS has to be 50" or less, they even put up posts with a 50" spacing. I'm not sure how prevalent that is, but we were looking for a smaller unit, 2 seats and a cargo bed. Not looking for a play machine, but more like a work machine, just a trail machine.
So far the Honda 500 meets that and fuel economy, and I'm pre sold on Honda reliability. I like to come back under my on power, don't like counting on other sources for help. I like to help myself. I used to be out in Prince William Sound in the winter time ferrying hunters from the islands to Valdez. Total radio silence, very few vessels out there. Makes you have top quality reliable equipment.
My brother used to own a ATV specialist shop in Stanton California called Fullerton Sand Tires. He dealt in tires and wheels for anything off road. Needless to say he had some HOT machines. Built for mostly the sand dunes in Glamis and other go fast places. It's a blast. Great for a couple of days, but, not what I want or can afford for myself.
I more interested in a trail machine. If I had the money I'd look at the Kobota SxS diesel powered.

After 11 years of faultless service my Polaris 400 developed an issue with the 4 wheel drive system. I took it in for repairs and spotted a new 570 Ranger. It is the same size as the 400 so I won't have to get a new trailer. All of my spare wheels and tires/chains will fit. The only annoyance was I had to order a fancier package to get power steering. My wife has RA, and her hands get fatigued so power steering will be a nice option. I already have a buyer for my old machine for half of what we paid for it 11 years ago.

Our's too is strictly a working machine and needs to be nimble in the woods, hence the preference for the mid size machine. At our age this should be the last one we need. Polaris has added some simple additions since our 400. A speedometer that I really don't need, a real gas gauge that I do need. They have moved the engine under the box instead of under the operator's seat and thus reduced noise in the cab. And this one will have fuel injection which was a $1,000 option back in 2010.

Polaris is offering up to $1,000 off a new machine and up to $100 off accessories for active and retired Veterans, and First Responders. Unfortunately that deal ends at the end of February unless they extend it. I qualify and squeaked in under the deadline. It was very simple to qualify online and there were really no gimmicks or hoops to jump through, just prove your status was all. And as I will be saving $1,100 I can hardly blame Polaris for wanting verification.

 Oversight on my part. My 570 Ranger is the upscale version with power steering. I miss quoted the model should have read, EPS not EFI. The black version was only offered as EPS, in 2017. However, it does have EFI, also.
