birds that glow in the dark

Last night i was stunned by a bird that was flying by. It looked like each wing had an iradecent (sp) patch.
The bird landed on some shrubs about 20 feet from where i stood. There wasn't any shine at that time. But when it flew again. The feathers on the top of its wings glowed.
NO I was not drinking. I only see pink elephants then.

I've heard of this.
you might have been getting some UV glow off the bird too...
[they see each other and many colors much differently than we do since their vision goes into the UV spectrum]
but airc it was figured out that some birds glow under some light circumstances during some UFO research.

Fireflys are luminous (emit light) birds don't. Several species (grackle for one) are iridescent - reflecting light (from very weak source).

Starlings are iridescent, too, and was my first thought.
