Nikon hasn't gone out of business they just decided to quit the scope market aspect of their operations and took their Lifetime Warranty with them.

I saw a Zeiss Conquest for sale last night on a board for just $300 . I understand that is kind of the made for "I want the name but don't want to pay for it" end of the line .

I don't know what kind of a warranty they have but maybe they don't need one .

I have a very old Redfield 1x-4x scope that is currently not attached to any of my rifles. Its clarity is AWESOME, and it is a really nice instrument. It is likely 40-50 years old. The curious part of its make-up......it is all-metric. The reticle adjustments are (as best I can tell by firing at 50 and 100 yards) about 10mm at 100 meters. It has sat in my scope box for a few years, and I believe it will go atop my CZ-550 in 9.3 x 62 Mauser--all metric, all the time. The CZ has a Leup 2x-7x on it that I bought for a hunt in Alberta in 2005, a nice glass sight in its own right.

I believe all the old variables from Denver, at least the earliest ones, had German W&E mechanicals inside. Lenses were Bausch and Lomb other lens mechanicals were made is USA. Recall AR and Guns magazines commenting on adjustment being closer to Mils or MOA rather than inches.

Looking for a red dot or holo sight for BO pistol. To replace nikon 223 4x on it. Like the scope but tired of head aches. Thinking Burris or the Mil one. 100 yds max.
