I looked into the K&M flash hole deburring tool, and--lo and behold--I stumbled onto a tool site that does an even more predatory job of ripping off buyers than MidwayUSA once did on shipping and add-ons. K&M can KMA.

What are you guys that perform these incantations using to accomplish the mission?

Gee Al, I couldn't say what brand mine is. I bought it from a magazine advertisement, probably the Rifleman and long before the internet. To be honest it looks home made but hey I'm still using it. Only thing I did to change it was to remove the handle and adapt it to the machine pictured earlier which runs it on a gear motor at 60 rpm.

Yessir--SWMBO's spirit animal is Amazon Prime.

Next ambuscade......the K&M tools showed 3 flash hole "pilot" sizes--.060", .080", and 50 BMG. That last one I can live without easily, but I do know that RCBS' old decapping pins came in 2 sizes--small, for 222/223-sized cases (I guess...) and large for real rifles. Has the Lyman "1-size-fits-all" system worked in the smaller cases?

Lyman here too.
I'm on my second one.

I broke the first when I made it into a hollow point tool then was an idiot on the switch.

Sorry, Al, I don't do .223, but reckon it would work for such.

Redding here, but kind of caliber-specific on the pilots. Had one brand with a tapered "one size fits nothing" pilot for the case mouth and it was terrible for repeatability if the brass wasn't perfectly uniform.

On my second RCBS. I run it in my cordless drill.
Best part of flash hole deburring is that it is a one and done thing on a case.

Lyman seems like it is building a consensus as The Tool To Get. I will likely go this route. I still like the concept of the K&M tools that use the pin-through-flash hole centering guide and have easily-replaceable cutters. I DON'T like how the company's software turns a $56 purchase into a $100 order by way of auto-inclusion of a carrying case and ($28) and predatory shipping rates. I guess if you question their pricing, you can't afford it. Things like that give me a case of the nalgas.

As the Ferrari salesman said to the customer who asked the price of a certain model, "If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it."
