Cleaning a mould.

Does it LOOK cleaner? Seems like all that should at least take off some or all of that
black crap.

I think it looks cleaner, but I am looking though wishful eyes. I will know when the weather clears up so I can do some casting with it.
If nothing else, this project has given me something to do while I wait for spring and nicer weather so I can get outside. :)

Spent the afternoon working with this mold. To no avail. Still has some rough spots in the cavities and the blocks still don't align properly. The end cavity leaves fins on the out part of the bullet closed to the end of the block. The spru plate leaves a fin on the base of the bullet on the same cavity.
So with all these problems still showing on this mold, I am declaring it officially dead. I shall start looking for a new mold tomorrow.
:sigh:

at least it isn't on old ideal, or original Winchester, and can be replaced pretty easily.

Well, Unc, you more than earned a gold star for trying.

Got the new 358-158-RF I ordered last week today. And wouldn't you know it, it is raining off and on and cold.
If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all. :(
