Close quarters self defense

A few months ago, I switched over to this one.
If I'm going to Birmingham, it goes with me.
Loaded with Sierra , 240 gr. jacketed HPs.
Easy to keep all 5 rounds in a circle the size of a silver dollar at 7 yards.
An all steel revolver. Heavy, but it certainly gets the job done.

I agree on snub wheelguns. My carry is a Mod 60 with +P hollow points. They always go bang and keep going bang until they are empty. Not that I ever want to be in a situation where I need it to go bang once, let along 5 times.

Let's pray you always have it close and never have to use it. A fine choice of revolver there, as always you have excellent taste even in purely functional items.

I carry a Model 36 because it's small, light, and reliable, plus it's usable at contact distance when rolling on the ground with someone or to get a second/third attacker off my back. I love autos but not for CC anymore.

@Ben , what model is that? Is it the older one or current?

I had a couple of the older ones, a 3" and a 6". They were really nice guns and accurate. They were a tad bulkier and heavier than my 3" BUlldog, so I carried t hat for many years. It was one in which I was very confident.

I think Taurus ,at that time, felt they were going " Toe to Toe " with Smith and Wesson and if they didn't make a good product they wouldn't be in it long.

I've always been well pleased with this one !

That a hammer of a caliber Ben! Nice!
My wife carries 2" Model 32 S&W ( 1950's era) in .38 S&W The .362' Lead bullet is quite impressive for a little cartridge! Her Carry loads are hot with a flat nose bullet

I actually bought a brand new Smith 624 in '84, which had ten defects, for which I had to return it to Smith. Would not cycle with ammo in the cylinder, period. They fixed half of them, left the rest to me and actually made one of the defects worse.

While I was working in a gun shop, late eighties to early nineties, the Taurus guns coming in were actually nicer than the Smiths coming in.

Some folks get upset when I say that, so I don't say it too often.

The first handgun I bought as an adult in 1989 I think, was a Charter Arms Bulldog. Still have it. I understand Charter Arms underwent many management changes and QC suffered during some of those changes, but mine is a good one, nary a prolem ever.

A few years ago, I picked up a Taurus in .44 Special, blued, fixed sights, five shot, 3" barrel with an underlug. Pretty beefy gun. I like big bore revolvers, but my CCW gun is a .38 Special.
