That is great Ben. Seeing the steps involved always interests me.
Great build, great rifle, great shooting.

Thanks for sharing that with us.

I admire the craftsmanship. Just makes me want to send you that stock all the more. :D

Although I've done a bit of wood working building model boats and such, I've not done any stock work at all. The inletting is at the same time, both fascinating and frightening. One screw up at an upper edge where wood meets metal and your beautiful piece of wood just became an example of what not to do.

Ben, you are extremely talented.

Interesting you'd say that.
I was a Biology teacher and school principal for 25 years.
I found that telling someone something didn't work nearly as well vs. allowing them to see it and better even, allow them to hold it.

Thanks,
Ben

And because of this, those children you taught, likely remember a lot more from your classes than they do from other teachers and other classes.

smokeywolf ,

You're kind and generous.

I've had the pleasure of seeing many of them become Drs., Dentist, Nurses, Pharmacist, etc.

Very rewarding.

We did a bit of homeschooling, which requires one to look back and remember what it was, that the teachers who offered the best and most memorable learning experience did. They presented the material in a way that kept us interested. As soon as you lose the student's interest, you have failed as a teacher.

I also enjoy your write-ups and illustrations.

A always enjoy good photos of fine craftsmanship, but looking at all that wood and metal work makes me feel tired and my hands ache! Call it "sympathetic exhaustion":)

There are no " free rides " on a project like that.

Sweat and hard work.
