Demooner tool .

Cheap , easy , minimal tools needed to make these demooning tools .

Step 1 buy a steel shaft golf club .
I got a cheap putter with a slightly corroded head , undesirable for a ball beater , gave $1 for it at the thrift store . Local charity feed .

Step #2
Cut it off at the bottom of the grip . The steel shafts are stepped like Mauser barrels allowing the selection of ID . In this example the steps would be suitable for 9mm , 40/10 , or 45 ACP .

Step #3
Check case fit inside the tube . One of the little bonuses of the club shaft is that most of them copper plated inside and nickle/chrome outside , a nice rust preventing measure , and it's medium flex thin wall seamless tubing . This one has a glue goober inside and hangs up a little . I had to cut the grip back some drivers and wedges have fatter shafts .

Step #4
Marking the step and notching .
It looks by eyeball to be about 1/4 of the diameter left standing but I chose to slip over the case and mark the edges of the clip. Then I used a 3 corner file to notch and set the shoulder .

Last step .
Cut the notch off . A Dremel tool would be the way to do this really but mine is buried someplace still . I made the drop cut with a flat file and squared up the faces and flat of the step . I left this one a little proud and rolled the corner so it rises up just over the rim but the flat hits the clip solid .

This one is considerably shorter than my first one . The first one was from a wedge and a larger dia shaft . It holds 14 empty rounds , this one only 6 . There might be glue or rubber from the moulded grip inside . It took me about 45 minutes to make from the first cut to dressing the sharp edges with interruptions , kids coming home , Ms requests , etc

Mine is a bit smaller, just 6" long and open on both ends. Holds 6 empties, just let them slide out and into my hand.

I went with an even easier method, I bought a 45 Colt

Me too . I have a bunch of AR brass also . A butched war surplus pistol that head spaces on the case mouth of Schofield also hangs out around the homestead with the Colts .

I have a print for a loader as well but that's stalled for the moment .

I use Ranch Products full moons. When I was wearing a badge and carrying my customized M28-2, I carried 1/3 moons in belt loops and 4 full moons in the regular speed loaders.
For removing the empties, I made a remover from a piece of thin wall tubing of appropriate diameter. Cut about 3/4 of the rim away to leave a lip and you have a good tool. You can also find plans to build a tool to help squeeze the loaded bullets into the clips. I built one from scrap metal and wood, works a great!

Today, a company called RIMZ makes a polycarbonate moon clip that loads and unloads with your fingers. I have not yet tried them but a couple of shooters I trust have had good things to say about them. They are not suitable for “social work” but great for fun shoots.

I don't know about Ranch Products .

I do know Revolver Supply . I bought a few from Midway and bought a few packed in Wilson cover . All of those were marked RS and I believe were made by Revolver Supply also .
Like many things the more you buy the cheaper they get . If you buy 5 they're like $11 , 10/17.50 , 25/27.5 , 50/47.50 , 100/75 .
I did a buy with a buddy and we split 100 . When they arrived we got 105 as the mat blue came with 5 satin nickel clips to try and see if you like those better . The old puppy dog close :) . They came to 79¢ ea delivered . It's pretty hard to argue with having $60 in 75 clips for anything . I was given another 15 .

Ranch Products was the originator or the modern full moon clip. (The original full moon clip was patented in 1916). I believe 8 clips are $4 or a bit less. The more you order, the lower the unit cost. I have several hundred.

I use a piece of copper pipe. It’s been in my range bag for nearly 20 years.
Good thinking on the GC!!

mine is about 8-9” long enough for a complete loaded moon clip.
