The Swedish Bikini Team made appearances at the old Burrito Shoots from time to time, often as an adjunct to the Rules Committee. As you might expect, scores suffered when that bevy of beauties showed up. Greta was conspicuous by her absence from that team. Perhaps Greta's sullen demeanor was brought on by repeated failures to make the cut--relegation like that has to hurt.

ASPCA is trash. What's his name is now playing for the NYC firefighters, something about the wall. Was Wounded Warriors. Salvation Army, some of what they do is very good. Goodwill is decent, used by many as a trash dump. If you want to help foreign kids, Compassion is a good org. Unfortunately, many countries won't let them operate.
Greta is a whiny brat that knows nothing she isn't directed to say.

The CEO of Goodwill has a salary of over $1 million. The CEO of Salvation Army is less than $100,000. The nearest Goodwill is 3 miles from my home, the nearest Salvation Army is several more miles than that, but I prefer to take to the SA, they GIVE to the needy, not sell it to them cheap.

Post 9-11 my wife and I spent two years volunteering with the local Red Cross chapter. We helped six or seven families who suffered house fires, and I did a three week stint in Arizona during the Chediski/Rodeo Fires. It took a while, but the more we became familiar with the organization's inner workings, it's political stance, and it's waste of donated dollars and goods the more we grew to dislike it all. We quit and will never recommend the Red Cross to anyone looking for an organization to volunteer for.

Red Cross is far worse. Their top dog gets his millions before they will even pass out a cup of coffee during an emergency.
Learned my lesson early; in the 1950's growing up in the Ohio River drainage valleys floods were common. During high water the Red Cross shelters were well used. When the water went down, swarms of Red Cross people would come trying to get money from the people that had signed into shelters. Only the poorest of the poor lived "on the bottom land". That makes it hard to donate when you are raising a family on $.25 an hour as a miner or farm labor.

Always supported the Salvation Army folks, as they new asked for a dime from the people they help.

Yep, early 60's, N. Illinois. Tornado hit nearby, we were alright but a lot of severely damaged homes. Red Cross promptly shows up with coffee, donuts, blankets etc. Everyone thought that was great until a couple of weeks later when everyone that got so much as a cup of coffee got high dollar bills for all that generosity.

Shriners via a local sponsor fixed my daughter's hand . It was an electric burn palm and 2 fingers . 3 surgeries tendon and ligament repairs and grafts and 2 skin grafts to fix scar damage . It cost us gas money . From just So of Reno to Oakland , about $250 total over 7 yr I guess . I don't know how the over head comes out but everything we saw was under rated then and even now in the age overblown exaggerated claims I think they're TV ads are only about 80% of what they really do .

Shriners have an excellent reputation, but I have no personal experience with them. As a Masonic organization they should be very trustworthy.

that's where any donations I make ends up going.
I know they are using the money to make things right for someone.
