Got another combo mold

Picked up another combo mold from eBay. It's a Lyman two cavity mold in two different calibers. One cavity is a 42798, which is Lyman's standard 205 gr 44/40 bullet. The other is a 257283. I cannot find any info on this bullet, what cartridge it was designed for, etc. Anyone with any knowledge of this bullet's heritage please post what you know.

It doesn't look like it was ever used, there is no sign of wear beyond what you get from just examining the mold and swinging the sprue plate. If I ever do use this mold the 42798 will be loaded in .44 Special and the 257283 would be loaded in my Mauser .257Roberts AI.

You can see the difference in bullet diameters and lack of wear on top of mold.

No wear around the female alignment pin holes and clean unpitted cavities.

Post Ideal, definitely Lyman. Cleanly stamped designations.

I have a 2-cavity Lyman mould in #257312 flavor. I believe 312 is the gas-checked variant of your 283. Mine casts 85 grains, and shoots very well in my 25/20 rifles.
