Had to order a new scope

This all makes me think Unertl never should have went out of business. Seems like they could build unlimited diameter scopes and almost unlimited MOA adjustment. With just a parallax adjustment, the scopes would be ruggeder and less prone to failure.
No one wanted to take over the family business.

Their internal adjustment scopes are almost as good as today's except for lens coatings.

Scope showed up today. But we have problems. It looks like they sent me a returned/used scope. There are very faint rings marks or scratches on the tube. It was mounted in something. I don't care about ring marks on a scope, but this is supposed to be new. If I bought a used scope I would expect there to be marks. But not on a new one.

I have a email into the company to see what they want to do.

That’s a bummer.

If you made the purchase on a credit card, contact the company and provide photos of the scope and copies of your emails. Things will likely get drawn out over a couple of months before a decision/ruling is made. I was screwed over this last fall by a company out of NH, half my order was missing due to poor packaging on their part. Our friends at fedex rightfully denied any wrong doing. By the end of day I was out $150.00 after the CC sided with the merchant. Since then, if it is not in stock at Midway, Midsouth, PV, Grafs, Natchez, I go without or make do with what I have. Better to wait and/or pay more through a business with a reputation for good customer service from start to finish.

Might also write the manufacture of the scope, maybe they can help out, replace, maybe not, what's the worse that can happen, they say sorry can't help. At least they will know the seller is not doing them any favors by selling used or damaged merchandise as new.

I wish you the very best, it is frustrating.

I sent them a email this morning telling them I was just going to send it back COD. 10 minutes later I got a response and a return label. Guess they didn't want to have to pay full price for shipping and the COD fees

Good, happy to hear things are going well.
Just FYI, noticed Midway has a screaming deals on some of the Viper PST's if the budget allows,

Well my eyes are getting worse just like everyone elses as we get older. I used to be able to see the center of a 1" target dot with a 3x9 power scope. As my sight got a little worse I had to go up to a 6-20 vortex viper with a fine crosshair to see the center of the dots.

Well I have noticed guns that used to shoot 0.25"-0.5" have now been shooting into 1" on average. I just can't see the center of the dots I use anymore. The dots have a 1/4" dot in the center of them for a fine aim point.

So I got a new 6-24x50 34mm tube scope coming. I am hoping the extra 4x will get me back to shooting smaller groups again. And it has a better finer point of aim than the vortex does so that should help. It is the Arken 6-24x50. They have a really good sale going on right now for them.
Have you tried without glasses,if you wear them. I have a Nikon I use on my 223. I see a lot clearer if I take my glasses of. Just a thought..
