I was able to get back out into the woods this evening. I used shooting sticks, and sat cross legged, all shooting was done at 50 yards. The groups below were fired out of the same M1917 I have been using throughout this thread.
I had loaded up another 25 rounds with the Lee 312-155-2R PC/GC, over 36gr of RX-7. Also, tonight I tried some new powder, Shooters World Precision. I loaded the same Lee bullet over 35, 36, 37, & 38gr of SWP.
I was not overly impressed with the RX-7 load, the groups were pretty big.
I was very happy with the 38gr and the 37gr SWP loads. I’m pretty sure I pulled the far right shot on the 37gr load.
The SW Precision is very close in burn rate to Varget. I did some research on it and posted what I found out in this thread.
I have been using IMR4895 and IMR 4064 in my M1 rifle for both and jacketed and cast loads. I see that Shooters World has a Garand load listed for Match Rifle powder. I have tried contacting them twice with no response asking if it can safely be reduced for cast loads. I would like to try this...

It is inexpensive and was available a few months ago. I’m gonna load up five more at 39, 40, 41, & 42gr. It will be interesting to see where the groups go all to hell.
I wish I knew how fast these loads are going. Even If I had a chronograph I wouldn’t be dragging it out to the shaded woods.
