I picked that one up yesterday as well!!

It was absolutely abused and a basket case. Bad pitting and absolutely BASHED sides and corners. Its missing alignment pins and has no Spure plate at all. But insides are very good. Slides and keepers and screws are all there. Someone started "fixing" it but has the top out of alighn and square.

I got it washed and scrubbed yesterday. I disassembled and made new alignment pins. It had stop pin for spure plate. I removed that and milled to top dead flay. Removing about .0065 of material. I "dressed" the sides where worst burrs was. (Think old splitting mall or sledge hammer head) Ooh the insanity of why this would be done!!!!!

I have it soaking in evapo-rust to get rest of corrosion off.

As you guys know better then me. The mold makes wadcutter like bullets of adjustable weights.

More as I continue its rehab.
But its a neat old mold we done see today.

I have had a number of those early type hollowbase moulds, how is yours adjustable? I'm not familiar with that feature.

The hollow base (labeled 358404) is not adjustable. Apologies if I miss spoke there. The 360-302 is adjustable.

You can see both molds in my video link I posted in post #2

I wasn't bothered by any measure, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something somewhere. I've bought a number of these moulds in the past, and some of them came from people who didn't understand how they worked, most commonly I ended up with moulds that had had the hollowbase mounting screw either shortened, or replaced with a shorted screw so the base was mounted tightly against the mould block. These people generally complained that they couldn't get the bullet out after casting it unless they removed the hollowbase pin.

I just wanted to be certain that I wasn't being as shortsighted as those people. If I'm missing out on a feature, I wanna know about it:).

Thanks CW!
