That thread is at the other site.It seems like there is/was maybe a sticky over there about something like 25000 WC through a M29 and counting. I read part of it up to having broken 30k . That was several years ago.
I think I've had my stainless GP100 around 35 yrs. Still looks almost like new. many thousands of rnds thru it of all kinds of bullets. Mostly cast though. I think the worthiness of these revolvers would stand up to anyone's revolvers. It gets 5/5 stars from me.I've speculated on what it would take to wear out a GP100 from use (not abuse). I can't really imagine what the round count would be. I know I probably couldn't afford the ammo bill!
Great thing about a GP if you run out of bullets grab it by the barrel and use it as a club.Ruger GP100s, Super Black Hawks, and Red Hawks are some of the toughest revolvers made.
I wore out a M29 in a few thousand rounds.
Pretty much all Rugers are that way, overbuilt.Great thing about a GP if you run out of bullets grab it by the barrel and use it as a club.
