I guess I will say Happy Father's Day!

Aaaah, nose hair.
I seem to have an abundance of that as I grow older. Ear hair, as well.
Luckily, at 67, I still have a full head of hair and a fairly nice beard.

Checking out the B24 before going up for a ride in the B17.
He was very interested in the B17 bombardier station having done the same in the B52.

I worked with a retired Air Force colonel who piloted B-52s on nuke routes, and Rolling Thunder during the Viet Nam war.

Some things just work, and after 60-years in the air the B-52 and the C-130 are excellent examples.

Yep. I grew up on some of the old SAC bases. He did a couple tours over Vietnam. Kinda interesting going to the SAC museum with him. Looking at a display on missions over Vietnam and he is pointing out people n the photos he knew.

In case your father may remember him, the retired colonel I worked with was named Frank Garcia, and was from San Antonio. That was at least 25-years ago and if still alive must be in his 90s.

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
Maybe he knew Lt Col Donald Opperman, now deceased. I think he was in command of radar that directed bombers in Vietnam. A neighbor and friend.

Cute little girl you got there Ian.

How long was your dad in Florence?

Just over a month. Nothing like teaching a senior-level art history course on "on location". They typically do Paris during winter term for the same reasons, but may not do it this year due to the Notre Dame fire. Extreme left wing psychosis has all but destroyed our private university and he's probably going to hang it up soon anyway.

If money, and vacation time, wasn’t an issue my wife would love that class. The chance to really see Florence would be amazing. The 5 days we had were just scratching the surface.

My nephew just squeaked in his first Father's Day by two days.
Got a pic from my sister of the new grand nephew in the cradle that my father made for
my sister in 1958. That was kinda cool. I remember being in the shop with
him when he made it. I have the power tools that he used in my shop now.
I miss him, the smartest man I ever knew, and a hell of a pilot.
