Do you need your bullet that hard? I would think down around BH 12 would work good.
To be honest, I cast a large amount of them in this hardness when I was testing a traditional bullet lube with this mold design and i'm just carrying the testing material over for continuity and it was what I had on hand in this design. When I Poly-coat I normally am not as worried about having a harder bullet alloy in the pot.

I've never pushed it faster then maybe 1600fps. Using a M1903 or M1917 or even My M700.
I believe this bullet was designed for lower velocities.
Unique - 12.0grs
2400 - 17.0grs
Cast of 50/50 COWW/#2, Linotype or RS. All using NRA 50/50 or lately BAC.
These days it's RS 4/1 to #2, PC'd.
It's all worked for me.

I'm having some success with them in my AR10 but I right now I'm working to getting a range of loads to function in the semi-auto and then I'll work at getting the groups smaller.

Rockydoc,
To be honest, I don't remember. Mr. Art Green suggested it more the 15yrs ago. But it was COWW & #2. I think It's about 11 bhn. Made 300lbs of it a couple years back. Worked out well too.
