If I were with Microsoft, I'd claim it was Patch Tuesday. But I'm not. So I'll claim it's Patch Week.

The forum will go offline for a little while at some point this week, so I can get a patch applied.

They normally only take about 15 minutes.

Yep, for sure. It probably often doesn't sound like it but your work here is very much appreciated. :)

I hope you didn't better at this than you do drywall......

He does drywall, just not well. Let's just say he gets lots of practice sanding. And sanding. And sanding.

Did I mention sanding?

He is good with electrons however.

Kevin does drywall? Oh never mind. I can't bribe him with barbecue since he can get that at Brad's.

I actually started smoking meat before Brad did. I just don't have a fancy smoker like he does - I use a bottom of the line Weber kettle.

As for drywall, you can't smoke enough meat in the next decade to bribe me to do drywall for you. I helped a friend do his entire basement and aan upstairs bathroom. I hate drywall work.

Thanks Kevin.

Drywall tip;first off use top of the line tools but..... with a clean say 10" taping knife, hold it up and sight down the blade.Take a sharpie and mark an X or something on the concave side..... they're sposed to have a touch of bow to them.90% of the time you should be looking at the "X"...... this results in finer/softer edges because they arent leaving lines and tracks everywhere you go.

Oh,and treat yourself to a margin trowel or two for getting mud out of the bucket.Nothing screams rookie like using a good taping knife to dig into or mixing mud.

Gee, I opened this thread thinking it was about rifle or pistol cleaning patches. Figured I may pick up some new concept in cleaning or using patches for my guns.

Never mind....

Haha;

Carrying on..... you have 2 choices in DW tape. The paper kind and then the fibre glass mesh.

Starting with the latter.... it IS the right stuff when used as the matrix for epoxy resins.Think reinforcing the forearm on a cheapy plastic rifle stock. Also can build up around mag boxes on rifle's as well....good stuff!!!

The paper is the right stuff IF, you're in the not desirable position of putting an end mill in a chuck of some sort.Yes you should use the correct holder..... yes,you might get some cross eyed looks from perfectionist machinists.... but it does work. It can also be used in your barrel vise iffin you want to preserve the finish. It also is a heck of good note paper.
