Sorry, not muzzle loader patches. Software patches.

Sometime in the next few days, the forum will go offline for a bit while I apply the latest.

And we're back.

Took longer than it should've -- a file somehow got corrupted during transfer.

All good, now! You may resume your conversations!

Had wifi since before I met you guys. I use technology as much as it conveniences me and not a bit more.

Not being the least bit critical of Ian, as I've spoken with him at some length on the phone and know that aside from his very extensive engineering knowledge, is wise far beyond his years.
Being a bit more stubborn, contrary and cantankerous, (HEY YOU KIDS, GET OFF MY LAWN); I'll utilize some features that offer major convenience, but won't give up what little scraps of privacy I might have left, for anything I can live without.

A big thanks to Kevin for keeping the site running smoothly.

Kevin does well at keeping things going. Without his tech support and my wfie being willing to support my need for lead based social activity none of this would be possible.

Thank you, Smokey and the respect is most mutual I assure you. My philosophy is if you're on the internet, you already surrendered your privacy. Besides, if anyone or any entity really, really wants to "get" you, they gonna and they don't need your internet presence to help. Once you get an SSN and a driver's license, you are officially public. If you're like me and have legal responsibilities at the Federal level, the illusion of privacy....and control...get a pretty serious adjustment. My best friend is a systems programmer and I am not a Pollyanna about what it takes to keep a place like this (or a bank account) protected. Hats off to those guys doing dirty work that we'll never know about or see. So I keep my nose clean like I always have, take reasonable precautions to protect myself from fraud, don't do stupid things in any public venue, and go about my merry way.

My first step to protect me against some tech systems is to ask Kevin. If he won’t use it then I won’t use it. He knows this stuff pretty damn well and is always cautious.

Between civil service background investigations and federal security clearance I've undergone, don't have any illusions as to who is watching and who can watch.
Like the locks on my doors mainly serve to keep honest people honest, the electronic locks on my electronics and connections just serve to keep ethical people ethical.
