Hi,
Here's one for my Nephew.
This is actually made from store bought 1075 Steel.
Can't really see any difference from my Leaf Spring or File Steel, but sometimes people want to know exactly what they have.
Had to run it a second time in the Temper Oven to get the hardness down to a Rc 58 which is what I prefer.
Used some Bronze Brazing Rod for pins and more of the Red Oak for a handle, it is just a nice hard thick wood and works well.
Made a "Stone Wash" Tube from PVC Pipe and run it on back gear on my Lathe for a blade finish.
Having fun, trying new things, and hope to forge a few of these this winter when it cools down some...
