I removed the g/c shank on this mold a few months ago and never got around to casting with the mold or shooting the bullets. Today, I got the mold out and will cast and test some ! !

I'm anxious to shoot these plain base bullets in my 30-30 break open Handi and my T/C Contender , Super 14, 30-30. May even try a few in my ( new to me ) Remington , 788, 308 Win.

The rear drive band mikes .3135 "
It will be pretty easy to size to .311 " or .310 ".

Plenty of lube capacity for a plain base bullet at 1,200 - 1,300 fps.

I suspect that it will work well as a plan based bullet. With that tapered ogive, there is quite a bit of bearing surface. That is my basic bullet (in GC form) for 300BLK and 308s for 1900fps loads.

BTW, there appears to be a 311359 in the front, center of that box of naked bullets.

Are they dropping at 160 give or take. I should do that to my Lee C309-180-R that drops at 170. :(

I have a small 90 degree square.
I spend 10 or more minutes double checking everything to see that the drill bit is entering the bullet mould at a " Perfect 90 ".

If you do that and don't drill beyond the g/c shank, you'll be good to go.

Slowest speed the drill press can run on would be great.

My 312155-2R....

Half CU checked ..half AL checked...

I guess Lee does make them different...fine with me as long as they shoot..

Dan,

Yours appear to have a VERY small " flat " on the end of the nose that mine don't have.

Obviously inconsequential in the scope of things.
Like you say, " fine with me as long as they shoot.."

Hi guys here's a little update on the Lee 312155-2R and Lee 312160TL-2R...shootin' wise...

Got to the range this morning and had a plinking session...the day was too nice to get serious..
had fun as the targets show and lerarned something...my worn out Remington 03 doesn't care much for the Lee 312160TL-2R...
but sure does like the 312155"s...

I couldn't believe how easy it was to shoot these ...no different than plinking with a .22..

First there or four shots went touching...just had to get the sights at least on the target, the gun and bullets did the rest...

It also is a good testament to AL checks..

Can't wait to get serious with these..

The CTL-160s do very well in my '03s and '03A3. Honestly, I haven't tried the 155 in any of them, but appears that I should.

The 312160TL'S shoot great in my other Springfields, with this load...

Can't wait for Ben to test his PB ones...
