Wonder if anyone knows a source for dimensions on Lee offerings.

Specifically I'm looking for dimensions on the Lee 90350 & 90352

Any info is appreciated.

I apologize in advance Bruce, but...........................................

Ok, seriously, I have both of those and IIRC have the TL in 6-banger, I'll have to check. The dimensions can be, how shall we say...flexible? You might get an average of 20 moulds and guess, or keep buying them until you get a size you like. The TL bullet is one of the best I ever used in .45 ACP and the rebated nose is great for Kimbers which can have a condition I call "premature slide lock" due to extra-proud slide stop lever nubbins. Yes, Nubbin is a technical term. Very accurate, very easy to cast, works great with liquid lubes of any kind, dip lubes, powder coat, etc. etc. and makes fairly clean target holes. Mine cast about .453" with WW, if you want more specific info I can maybe dig it up tonight if you specify. Potentially interesting factoid, the 90350 was the basis for my first order from Accurate Molds, I wanted exactly that design but with two regular grooves and a flat base (I was trad lubing at the time). That Accurate 45-230L is still my all time favorite mould for the 45 Auto and would still be using it except my DI-45 bolt lugs rip the case mouths open like a banana on the backstroke. I see now many others have copied it and altered the lube grooves, added BB, etc.

The other bullet is not ideal for the .45 Auto. Again, mine cast about .4525" to .453 with WW. It's too short and too rounded and has to be seated deep to chamber in most guns and that makes them bang around in the magazine and have feeding problems. If you're interested I can hook you up with moulds real cheap, pretty sure I have already remelted all the bullets I had from both Lee designs long ago.

Ok, the tumble lube 230 is .652" long but all I have currently is a two banger with the old style pins. Many of the "classic" Lee cataloged items changed size/weight/shape significantly when they changed over to the new manufacturing processes and block styles.

I can't find my 228-1R mould, must have sold it long ago. Did find a handful of old cartridges and pulled a bullet, it measured .628". HTH.

I dimly recall you giving away that mold.

the two T/L molds there seem to have a pretty good reputation.
not knowing your end goal, the molds are pretty easy to manipulate.
coat the bullets bigger or coat the mold with release to make them smaller..[shrug]
but the mantra and lee's business model is... they are 20$ what you expect?

I may have given it away to someone on boolits who couldn't afford to gamble on it being the wrong size.

That is a question like "How high is high?". The answer is it depends. The alloy, the temp and casting techniques will cause the bullet diameter to vary.
There just is no answer to what any given mold will produce in terms of as cast diameter. That is why they make bullet sizing dies and we "Beagle" mould and other such tricks of the trade, to get what we want and need.

It was really the length of those particular examples I was looking for.
Thanks, Ian!

I like to call Lee mould specs "Poetic". And not iambic pentameter like Shakespeare used--more like Ernest Hemingway's streams of consciousness or Salvador Dali's artwork.

There ya go. That "Lost Generation" sure could knock back the firewater. They are solely responsible for the edict "Write drunk--Edit sober".

With Lee you get what you pay for. That said, I have
had good luck with late model 6 cav handgun bullets.
Can't say the same for rifle molds.

I never got anything from Poe.
they all seemed like he was just writing about people with mental issues or schizophrenia.

Read "The Telltale Heart", when I was 12 or 13, and thought it was pretty scary.

The only time Poe was truly clear was just before I had my wisdom teeth pulled all loaded up on secondal and demoral .
I don't remember what the one about the cats shadow burned on to the wall after the house burned down trying to get rid of the cat .
The Raven was clear enough in an " ask not for whom the bell tolls for it tolls for thee " kind of way .

I have read everything Poe wrote, including his one novel. He is an American literary treasure, being a poet, short story writer, novelist and critic. Poe invented the entire horror genre. He was the first. Stephen King is just an extension of what Poe started.

Think Poe was weird because he was a guard for Jefferson Davis at Fort Monroe.
Davis was treated very inhuaminly during early captivity, and think it played on
Poe's mind. I like Poe, but in limited quantities.
