Lee hand priming tool

Hmm. Neat but I have about four of them in use for 20-30 years, never broke that part. The
clear plastic covers have crumbled on two, and the top of the 'socket' that holds the shell holder
cracked on one. Replaced that one because I could still get them. One new 'two stage' PITA
model also in service. My one good plastic cover seems to be made of something more durable,
still looks great after two others literally fell apart. It gets used on whichever one I am using at
that time.

Lots of work, Brad. Good job.

And knowing Chinese manufacturing, Midway probably pays $4.50 each for those $70 priming
tools.

I bought two of the old round tray models and have enjoyed them for many years. I leave one set up for small and one for large primers and that has always worked well for me. I finally broke the handle on one and was really disappointed about having to make a choice of which system I would try next. I tried drilling and tapping the broken part to add a handle but it here just wasn’t enough material there to work with. Lee of course did not have replacement parts for the old model but when I looked at the images of the replacement parts for the new square tray model, the handles looked very similar. I ordered one thinking I might have to modify it a bit and sure enough it worked, is much stronger than the first model, and cost much less than a whole new and less efficient priming tool. If you have a broken tool that you haven’t thrown away, it might be worthwhile to have a look. Oh, and put a tiny dot of RIG or heavy grease that won’t run on both ends of the dog bone.
