Lee Six-Cavity Special Run Clearance Sale $25.00

FYI: Lee has a gaggle of special run six-cavity moulds on clearance sale for $25.00. According to their web-site, the moulds are in as-is condition and returns are not allowed.

Beyond that, I know nothing.

I would wonder if they are custom moulds that didn’t make specs for the customer. Lee has made a ton of out to spec group buy moulds over the years.
Good thing is that it spurred NOE and MP into existence.

No doubt about it. Even so, there are those among us who have the ability to adapt them to our particular needs.

A 462-430 plain base caught my eye, but the rolling block's grooves are right at .457" and I'm not keen on taking that fat of a bullet down to .459".

But wait! -- what if the mould is so out of spec that bullets drop at .459"?

Could be? I believe Lee tended to err on the fat side on many custom moulds but I could be wrong?

I recall them flubbing a couple into almost unrecognizable blobs.

still I wouldn't mind some smaller cavity screw-ups, they could always be drilled into Paper patch or slick sided P/C cores.

430 240 RF catches my eye. Anyone know anything about this one?

Says "coming soon", can't order.

Looks a bit like a longer, skinnier version of the 452 255 rnfp.

If, and that is a big if, it casts to size it should be a decent shooter in 44 mag lever guns. Has more bullet in case than I might prefer?

Hmmm. How did you get the pic? OK, mine finally popped in. It was
super slow. Looks interesting if it will cast a bit larger than that. I have
two .44 Mag leverguns, a M94 and M92. They won't feed Keith bullets,
and the 92 needs pretty short LOA, too. May be worth the $25 for a lottery
ticket.

The 430-200 RF is interesting. Super Keith lube groove with RF front end....for
feeding in a levergun, my bet.

Wonder where they are coming from? Cast Boolits has totally stopped using Lee
for custom molds, mostly Mihec nowdays.

Yep, for 25 bucks it is worth a shot.
Some of those are pretty old. The C460 420 is a gas check version of the bullet I use in 45-70 and I have had that mould for somewhere around 10 years?

Still says 'coming soon' for quantity, so you can't order. I may get both of
those 44 cal molds.

Thanks for telling us though, will check back.

Thank you for the heads up! I ordered the 309-109-2R, will be interesting to see what I can make of it.
«Coming soon» in their webshop probably means «sorry, to late»

I attempted to buy one of these moulds.
Looks like they are making their money on shipping.
I backed out of the deal ! !

They only have photos of mould cavities Bret and they aren’t always easy to get on screen.

Ben, that is a massive ripoff for shipping. A flat rate box is cheaper than that. Too bad the Lee boxes won’t fit in one

GRMPS :

Of course, the difference here is you're interested in shipping the least expensive way. Lee is interested in inflated shipping prices ( they keep the balance after the shipping fee is paid ).

Didn't Cast Boolits have a lot of trouble with Lee molds when they used Lee for group buys? Don't believe I'd trust Lee in a no return situation.
