Tom, on the fuzzy sights- consider this option- https://eyepalusa.com It's a much less expensive alternative to a Merit disc. It works, I've got one. So does the Merit, but it's 4x as much and just as easy to drop, step on or lose.

I think that's pretty good shooting. I can do no better.
It's a hard adjustment that You never quite accept of getting older. The eyes going and arthritis in the hands. i know GOD has a since of humor, I have arthritis in Both trigger fingers.

Def gonna check that out! Sure would be nice to actually see a round black circle again, not a fuzzy black blob! And reasonably priced if they last a long time.

My eyes have been going for 20 years. I don't wear glasses...except when I need to see!!! I've done some experimenting with the Eyepal and it does work, it just takes some fiddling to figure out the right spot to mount it. It works so good I ponied up the bucks for a Merit adjustable when they became available again. The only real downside I see to them, especially the Merit, is that they are small and easily lost. The Eyepal isn't too bad in that respect but if I lost the Merit I'd be some kind of PO'd!!! I'm toying with the idea of figuring out where I want it to go and then super gluing it to the lens. I might, dunno for sure yet.

I can see it as a consistency aid as well, to help keep the same direction of your head, once you have it in the right place on a dedicated pair of glasses, maybe.

Bret, I rigged this up to try-before-I-buy...took a cd and cut out a circle and drilled a .040 hole in it. Thats the biggest micro bit I have for use with my scroll saw. Just taped it to the front of a cheapo pair of safety glasses and will give it a shot tomorrow night. Seemed to work pretty good standing on the deck and sighting at 25 yards to the back fence. I tried it with the dot sight as well, even though I don't need it for that, and it was fine. Hopefully I'll have a better picture of the target and still see the front sight clearly, inside on our range. Then I can decide on whether to splurge for a real one.

Looks good. I was skeptical until I realized that whenever I need to see something up close, like closer than a foot these days!, and didn't have my glasses I would curl up my index finger and look through the hole that made and move my hand to focus it. It worked, the Eyepal/Merit work and a hunka electrical tape with a tiny hole it it work too, so your rig should as well. IME the pain is figuring out just where you want it on whatever glasses you mount it on. And any fuzzies or dust that get in the hole mess with the system.

The big thing for me is that I can focus on the front sight and the target as a unit, or at least that's how it appears to me. The rear sight has always been a blur in most sighting systems for me, but the front sight and target have to be able to be seen. Have a bit of a problem with scopes now too, the more power, the more it seems things fuzz up. If I ever encounter a competent eye doc that will get me a working prescription maybe that will be easier too. There has to be a doc out there someplace that shoots!!!

My Merit disappeared a some years back' along with my shooting glasses. Bought the Lyman EyePal. Bret is right on the mark; getting the little patch in the right place is harder then using them. It does make hitting where you want easier.

My Merit sits in it's tiny 1" square plastic box in a drawer of my desk. I don't dare leave it lying around as it could very easily fall on the floor or into a trash can!!! Too much $$$ to risk, plus, there's no guarantee they will stay in production.
