I use this 2 cav., Lyman 358242 mould a lot.
It is a great multi - purpose , 9mm / 38 Spec. / 357 Mag. , .35 cal. rifle cast bullet. My grandson Trevor, goes through tons of these.
Here he is shooting them out of my Ruger 9mm carbine.
They shoot great and function at 100%.
This is a 30 round group that Trevor ( age 10 ) fired at 40 yards out of the Ruger 9mm carbine :

My supply was running a little low, so I got out this morning and cast more.

I also shoot this bullet out of my 357 Max, and my three .358 Win. rifles ( at around 1,100 - 1,200 fps ), makes for a very accurate light weight plinker in the 358 Rifles.

When I first got started in bullet casting this is one of the two molds I bought used. I have bought a couple more of the same number through the years, but the first one has always shot well in 38/357 calibers. The Lee 356-120-TC is a very close second but having it in a 6 cav mold, has spoiled me. If I am not shooting for serious bragging, I use the 120 grain bullet. It is easy to cast and easy on the alloy and powder supply.

Nice shooting, Trevor!
Do you have a bullet trap of sorts, so you can recycle your bullets from the range?

Now, if I were to start a lead mine, I would know were to go :)
Thanks for the nice photos, always a pleasure to read your threads!

Trevor is coming along quite nicely in his shooting abilities. Well done young man.
I bought my wife one of those little Ruger rifles awhile back. They are indeed a lot of fun!
Thinking about putting a red dot sight on it.

The red dot would work just fine.

We have a Bushnell 4 X with their " circle X reticle " on our Ruger 9mm carbine.

Trevor loves the scope. Enough magnification to shoot a good
group at 40 - 50 Yards, with a nice wide field of view.

Ben,
I bought a piece of AR500 24x18 at a gun show, then made an angle iron frame to hold it at
45 degree angle. I have put temp sides on now, leaning some old armor plate salvaged
from a range, just leaning now. I need to get a bottom box made up of light steel, maybe
.060" or so and about 6" deep to put under it, filled with sand. As it is I have most of
a trap but not actually catching anything, just making the downrange area safe.
