Mold handle modification

I recently picked up a MP 4 cavity mold. When I mounted it to the Lee handles the HP pins would bind with the mold barely open. I modified the Lee handles on my bench grinder and now it opens plenty wide so bullets can fall out.

I’m out of the sling and can do a few things but still no casting, but I’m gonna ready when the time comes. This 4 cavity brass mold is a beast! I’d rather had a d/c but beggars can’t be choosey.

Good work but the pins are just supposed to come in from one side. No need for the pins coming in on the other side.

The should just float out when you open the mold.

If they break I won’t be out much with the Lee handles.

Did not know that about the pins. When I received my new MP mold they were installed that way. Learn something new every day.

I have some modified handles too, a couple have so many holes in them they look like I skeletonized them for weight savings.
what happens is I dig through the molds mounted up looking for the pair I modified, then say screw it and drill a new pair.
