More Early Morning Visitors

In the last 4 days we have had some visitors. The top a pretty good size Bull just out behind my dog yard. Next day a second Bull not quite as big as the first came thru for a snack..
The 2, second year calves, one bull one cow between the front door and my shop. Lastly while the 2 year olds were off to the side, mom was licking salt off the front step. Mom managed to bend my garden fence (6' high) to get all the broccoli. Mom and the 2 year olds have been bedding down in the front yard for a while. Makes it tough to get the shop in the early morning sometimes.

Never been around Moose but I've read they are aggressive, not like the Deer around my place that ignore me or leave when I go outside.

And I complain about the deer eating everything?

THose are some very large visitors and I too would be cautious about getting too close to them.

You do need to be watchful. Usually they will move off, but, I've been charged trying to come out the door. Have lots of motion sensitive outdoor lights for winter, so you can tell when a moose is wondering around. Not unusual for someone to get stumped each winter.

I have been around them in the Wind River range in Wyoming a number of times. The scariest was when I
was "cleverly" sneaking up on a nice big bull with a long telephoto, taking pix and keeping trees between me
and it, and I knew a large female was about 100 yds the other way through some dense aspens....and heard a branch break
behind me. Wazzzat?? I turned slowly, and there was the 5 ft-at-the-shoulder,
gangly "Junior Bullwinkle" all dumb and happy,
sneaking up on ME, with a curious "hey, I never saw one of you before, what are you?" look on his face .....10-15
yds behind me. :eek::eek:

I vacated the area very promptly before Junior got frightened and screamed "Mommie, Daddie, help save me
from the mean person!" and I got in WAY deep doodoo. Within about 20 seconds I was 100 yds away in the
precisely perpendicular direction to a line between Junior and Dad. Max distance from both per stride.

Don't frighten the meeses.

Boy, hunted the Wind River area in the mid 60's with my folks and extended family, beautiful area if memory servers. We would drop down to the grass and hunt Antelope. Met the last resident of South Pass City, had to creep one tire gently over the corner of his porch to drop down to town. That was before the Government took it over to rebuild and restored. My Uncle found a differential for a Model "T" or "A" in the town dump and strapped it on his rear bumper below the camper, and took it back to Ohio with him. I got a couple of cans of Sego milk were they soldered the fill hole in the top, from the old store.
We would camp back up into the The Wind River higher up's. I just remember there was a decent little creek close by which had trout in some of the pools. My Grandma stayed in camp, but would not be left out, and she loved to fish. She asked me, after we returned to camp, if I had any fishing gear. Well none of us did, but Gram took me to see these pools with fish being lazy and was just about drooling as she loved fish of any kind. I went back to camp and grabbed my 06 and tried a little "fishing". Fired into the pool in question and got 3 fish floating up. Well Gram was ecstatic after the disappointment of not having any fishing gear. So Gram had fish for dinner that night. My Father would not let me "fish" after that, something about not being legal.

I don’t recall ever seeing a turkey hang around to clean up bird seed knocked to the ground by the deer.
Her fawn wasn’t far behind.

The wife and I drove by my new building yesterday to check progress. There were three fully grown deer grazing in the front yard of the house across the road. We stopped right across the road and watched them for a minute or so and they didn't even react, they just looked at us for a few seconds and resumed grazing.

Our deer are very comfortable with people. We frequently pull into the drive and get out of a vehicle less than 10 yards from them. Turkeys aren’t much more spooky than that.

Or when the season starts, then they disappear. Went camping at Beaver bend, deer bedding along with the campers, protected.

Deer in the backyard. Deer in the front yard. Looking like Smokeywolf is gonna have to get used to that fairly soon.

Just had two decent sized moose come by our sun-room. These two and others have been hanging around this summer. They better move off or they might end up in a neighbors freezer. Tried to up load a video of these two but my file is to big. I'll work on that.

Hopefully. Have to get this crackerbox under contract in the next 4 weeks.
The Crackerbox is under contract. Now if all goes well and it doesn't fall out of escrow (if there was an emoji depicting prayer it would go here), we've got to figure out the logistics of moving household and machine shop by the middle of next month.
