I think you will enjoy the rear sight, I have one and really like it over my others. Very quick to pick up the front and stay on it. Nice looking piece as well!!!!! Should bring lots of fun.

Nice looking pistol.

So is this the "chopped and channeled" 1911, by that I mean that they sliced a bit out
of the frame at the mag well to fit the 9mm, and shortened all the bits to make it really
a 9mm sized 1911? The typical 1911 in 9mm has a spacer inside the mag to hold the
rounds fwd, but I think this one will not need it. I think I understand what they did, but
not entirely sure.

The cut down version would make the trigger reach shorted, great for smaller hands. I
assume that a regular 1911 magazine is too long front to back to fit the mag well, is this
correct? Perhaps the mag well is narrower, too.

Yes, the whole gun is resized. It takes special mags as the grip is smaller. That's why I put on VZ grips to give me more to hold. It just feels better than my full size 9mm 1911 and jumps less at the muzzle.

Really interesting modification. With modern CNC technology and solid modeling, this sort of
rework isn't too hard to do, at least compared to what it would have taken 50-75 years ago.
Neat idea.

Very nice!

I like the sight also. We put a 10-8 rear on an m&p9 we had, it was much better.

What kind of holster are you going with?

Just thinking about this model, I wonder if the trigger bow is now shorter on this or if other changes were made to accommodate the frame size?

Yeah I love the 10-8 rear...I have been using a Blackhawk Serpa Concealment but , most of the time I use an Alien gear holster going back and forth to work.

Not sure when I had it apart I didn't think about checking that...Next time I take it down I'll check. But the trigger is real nice doubt I'll replace it. I only set the over travel so the reset is nice and short.

I bet that shoots & carries great.

A younger gal had the officer frame emp at front sight years ago. It performed well through the 4 day shoot & she liked it a lot.

It does shoot and it carries like a dream. I carry a glock a lot but, I just feel better with a 1911 on my side.
