Need Help with Bushings for Texan FW Reloader

I have a need for information as to the ID of a #118 and #117 powder bushing so I can make a couple to load Unique for 20ga ¾oz loads. Anyone have those bushings? AND yes, I'm familiar with the universal charge bar but that's not the way I want to go.

Think I have it figured out; using MEC bushing data for Unique. #22 drops 15.1 and the ID is 3/8". Seems doable on my Lathe.

Gary,

You probably already thought of this. But using the MEC bushing determine the volume for the bushings that drop the charge weight you are looking for. Then using the length of the Texan bushing figure out the diameter that would give you the same volume.

I went and cut out a sample using the figures as provided and it only drops 14.6 gr. of Unique. So, it's back to the lathe to use a 27/64th bit and see how it works. I'm flexible between 15.4 and 15.8 grains.

You said you had a lathe. You should be able to bore it to the exact dimension to give you the weight you desire based upon the volume of the MEC bushings. Knowing the two MEC bushing volumes and charge weights, you could calculate the gr/cu in and then cut yours to the desired cu in you need.

I have a whole box of bushings that are smaller than the ones for a MEC. Do you think they are for the Texan? I can measure when I get home next week and if so, I'll send them along as I don't need them.

i wouldn''t take what MEC says about their bushings for granted.
be prepared to make it, then do it again to drop what your scale says not their chart.
they are usually off a size or two [small]
