New Lyman Sprue Plate

Just received a rebuild kit for a DC mold and cast a few with it the other day. Haven't weighed the bullets yet to compare with the old one but didn't notice any problems at the time. The most obvious difference was the new plate is about 65% thicker than any of my older ones. And also the "pivot" bolt for the plate seems to be the same as some I'd ordered individually a year or two back. The happy difference is with the thicker metal I don't have to use spacing washers. Do wonder what prompted the change to the thicker plate though.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
The last several I've bought were much thicker than the originals, perhaps 50% thicker.

Way easier if you can just BUY it. :) Thicker plate may hold heat better, or bend less
easily, or both.

Mine was an old integral handles single cavity, not the same as the current ones.
