New Skinner sight

My new Skinner sight for the Marlin 1894 .44 Mag will be here today. It comes with a .096" aperture and I ordered a .070" and a .040" ass well.
Looking forward to trying this out!

I agree, receiver sights are best for lever actions. Never have been fond of scopes on mine. I did have a 3 power Leupold on one of my Marlins years ago. Now I’ve got one Skinner and three Williams . My 41 Mag still has factory sights.

Scopes do have a use. My 1895 Marlin wears a 1.75-6 Leupould and it is a huge plus in low light.

Might need to consider a drill/tap on the Win 92 for a receiver sight. Hate to do that to such a nice rifle but it would make it far more shootable.

Barrel-mount works pretty well for me, Brad.

May well look into that Ian. Kind of a scout peep setup.

I've got the Express version on my Marlin/JESS 38-55, ended up with a ramp style fiber optic front to help with these old eyes. Really works great for me. The fiber optic isn't the greatest for precision target work, but for plinking and hunting I don't see much out there to compare.

NOE makes a scout scope set up for the 92's.
a bunch of us on the Rossi lever gun site got together and pestered him, then Ranch dog finally called him and got it done.

Did look, that mount won’t work for me. My barrel is octagon to round so the taper is totally different.

Right......

She wants me to put a clock in the garage because I seem to lose track of time when working? Not sure what the problem is.

it helps with casting rates.

you know the 94 AE's were drilled and tapped on the frame next to the bolt.
they made the AE's just so a scope could be mounted.
the 92's still throw all their cases straight up in the air, so your either stuck with a home made mount and a 4" long 4 power on the back of the receiver, or a scout scope.

Like the front sight I made for my Ruger 1911 Commander. Couldn't buy what I wanted,
so I made it.

Give it a shot, Brad. Fun stuff.

Tang sights, I like them, a lot.

Have an un-branded vernier tang sight on the .45-70 Navy Arms/Pedersoli Buffalo Rifle, and the .357 Magnum Rossi 92/EMF Hartford has a Marbles, but will stay with just the semi-buckhorn on the .38 Special Uberti/Cimarron 1866.

They all used to come D/T'd for a receiver sight, didn't they? It wouldn't look out of place and shouldn't hurt the value - like it would on something that never came that way originally. Two little holes and they'd be covered up with a sight you'd appreciate using.

they did and they didn't it just depends on the time frame they were made in.
the 94's also were and weren't depending.
