Here is the mould with deep HP pins.

Today, I removed these deep pins and replaced them with " cup point " pins.
Tell me what you think ?

Very nice!

I have the same mold and cast it with cup pins and my results are excellent!!
3.5 grs bullseye sized .359 in 38 special shoots better than I can hold.
5.0 grs bullseye sized .359 in 357 mag same results absolutely amazing accuracy :)

I really like those cup points! I believe they offer all the expansion you need, and more penetration.
Beautiful bullets!
Ben, have you had any experience with «Keith»- bullets in .35 caliber rifles?

I tried the 358429 in my Ruger # 1 , 357 Max.
They didn't do well at all.
Of course, that was with a VERY limited amount of different loads.
Maybe if I'd had more loads( they were loaded in 5 round lots with different powder, different OAL's, different powder charges, etc ) to test, I'd have seen different results.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I'm not a huge fan of cast HP's, just too much trouble for what you end up with IMO, but those sure look nice! You do tend to cast some real lookers Ben!!!

kind of surprised they don't offer a 'nose delete' pin so you could make a light weight wad cutter from the same mold.

What is the NOE name for that Mold? There used to be a place on the NOE site that had the old and new names for their molds, and if it was clone, a comment noting the mold (Lyman, mainly) it was a clone of: I looked on the site and can't find that page now, so their name for the mold would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm no help since i spend about 0 minutes a month on their site.
But i'm only commenting to say welcome to the site.

if i were gonna go there looking.
i'd probably end up simply perusing their 35 cal section by weight till i seen the mold.

My NOE clone of Lyman's #358477 casts wonderfully and the castings behave well--just like the Lyman-made castings do. The 4-cav in aluminum makes lots of bullets in a short time.

I use an old one hole 358477 that drops 150 grain. This bullet over 4 grains Bullseye in a 38 special case is one of the most accurate loads from my 4" Smith.
