This has been the single most accurate bullet out of my 35 whelen so far. I originally got a rg2 gc version and wish i had got a pb version also.

Anyway, i noticed they're low on inventory on this one so i started a thread for a re-run on it under their "new inventory" forum as i want a 4 cav. 2 gc and 2 pb al. mold to go with the rg2 i have.
Thought there might be some interest here from any 35 cal. rifle shooters.

A member sent me some pb versions of this bullet to try out and with 12 gr. of unique the first 3 shots were one ragged hole @100 yds. and 5 went just over an inch. Knew i should have got a pb on the original run Al made.

Yodog and JW,

There's a brass 4 cav. 2 gc 2 pb for sale on that other site right now for 100.00 shipped.
I hate to pass on it, but i want aluminum.

Aluminum for me too! Brass Moulds are pretty things to look at but I do not like casting with them Sold my last one 2 years ago & do not miss it.

I would be the fifth guy if I would have bought the last encore 35 whelen barrel I had my eyes on!!!!
I need to just quit being cheap and do it.

Wasalmonslayer, the Encore is what i have for a whelen and i absolutely love it. It's a natural for cast bullets like any other 35 cal.
It has proven accurate with every cast bullet i've tried in it from 200 to 280 gr., but it absolutely dotes on the 360230 noe bullet. Just wish i had gotten a pb mold too in the original group buy on that one.

Lol i just bought a Zastava .308 mauser on clearance sale a while back. I've had and used the encore for everything for so long now, the bolt rifle feels almost strange to me now.....i keep looking for the lever to break the action open with.

I know what you mean.
I have an 06 barrel on my encore and it shoots quite well!!!
I also have a contender and play with it in various calibers also.

I just need to quite being cheap the next time I find a nice barrel!

35shooter what size does mold drop?? I passed my 360230 to a friend, for his 35Whelan I never done much with mine, because my friend wanted it so bad.I'm thinking it might be a good bullet in a 357Maximum,for silhouettes and hogs.

I Guess this got me to thinking,I have another 360230 GC 4cavity,I had marketed it for the 357maximum but haven't gotten around to using it .any chance someone would want to trade me a .377 or.378 for this one?? I've just got the 375 GNR #2 barrel I'd be interested in a 62 gr FN 225 mold as well.

Yodog, if you have any aa4350 and haven't tried it in your whelen with this bullet, it may pay to give it a go.
I started at 52 gr. and have worked up to 59 1/2 gr. so far. 60 gr. is max according to accurate powder's info i have for a 250 gr. bullet and is a compressed load.

I shot this group(top of target) 4 shots at 105 yds. Sunday in hard crosswinds.
The wind caught me a bit on the 4th shot....i LOVE this bullet.

1st 3 were in .269" center to center, all 4 in 1.025". 4th shot was definitely a called shot from wind drift.
The lower rounds were 59 1/2 gr. of aa 4350 and it really opened up at that point.
As i said above, 60 is max and i doubt it will do much better there.

I'm happy at 59 gr. and it should be a rock solid 2300 fps as 60 is supposed to be 2370 fps. with a 250 gr. Probably won't shoot cloverleafs everytime, but i think it's going to be a solid load with a "bit" of speed thrown in for good measure lol.
