NOE Molds

Have been to the NOE site several times over the last couple of weeks.
Does he ever have molds in stock?
Was looking for the 314 - 155 mold but is always outof stock along with just about any other mold I want.
Are they going out of business?

Al is not about to go out of business anytime soon. As to the molds, he does not stock all of the designs he has available and does inventory runs when there is enough interest in a particular mold. You should visit the NOE Forums and put in a request for the mold you want.

NOE and Al are pretty easy to work with via the forum .
A while back I got a 460-543 (458132) . There were none in stock and hadn't been for some time . So I made a request on the forum under "what would you like to see run" . A couple of others also jumped in , 4 maybe total , and in about a week there were 3 each 1,2,&3 cav PB and 3 ea 1+1 PB+GC and 1c GC .

I've always had good results from Al at NOE.
Yes, he does list some moulds that he currently doesn't have in stock.
Let's not forget the hundreds and hundreds of moulds that he has ready to ship immediately. Those moulds are cut to precision standards that 15 or more years ago were unheard of.

I tried to order an item from MidWay recently, it was out of stock. Does that mean they are going out of business, I think not. Because NOE doesn't have a particular mould in stock certainly doesn't mean that they are going out of business.

Well now I don't feel too bad.
Thought it might be only me and the particular mold I wanted.

Winelover,
I gave up on buying gass checks a long time ago.
Now use either pat Marlin , or freechex to make all of the gas checks I use.

I must be lucky. I only have two of his molds. Both were in stock and on sale at the time I purchased them.

he catalogues a lot of stuff, just popping in and ordering one is the problem.
I have had at least 3 PM's from another website about wanting to order the XCB mold, after I got into a discussion about H/V cast shooting and linked to the test results posted here.
I went to check on the particular number AL uses so they could get one and all I could find was a 2 cavity P/B-G/C mold and a 4 cavity Brass sumthin or other.
I would imagine Waco's videos are selling a few of those molds, but [shrug] what do ya do?

Yes the shortage is all waco's fault! he just makes those bullet so exciting!
Seriously... I never had an issue...maybe I'm Middle of the road probably have only 1/2 dozen. The only one I had a wait on was a 360-230 gr Ranch Dog but it was only a few weeks wait

My stimulus to buy moulds is Ben! He’s always posting these beautiful cast boolits and ever so tight shot groups, that I’m hoping buying the moulds he uses will help me out.... however there must be more to it, but I’m learning!

Couldn’t have said better myself! And I’ve never had a problem getting what I wanted from Al. I did have to order a brass mold one time because aluminum was out of stock. That turned out to be a good thing!

This is neither a complaint nor a criticism, but I'd own two or three more NOEs if they'd been available when I had the cash.

The one I do have was available when I needed it.

I'll have another someday, I suppose. I have 1C moulds that eat up my very limited casting time which would make a new 4C NOE justifiable, especially since that size is conveniently right at a hundred bucks shipped. That's cheap if I consider that I've probably had enough Lyman and LEE stinkers to make the good ones cost more than I paid for them individually.

Hey, maybe Ben and Waco should be getting a commission!:D

I have 10 .......I lack $200+- of the $1k club still .......

I need ...er ......want a couple of specific moulds from his inventory and one very specific bullet , a dimensional copy of a copper bullet in lead , making a 300 gr X a maybe 405 gr HP upwards of 450 solid FP , certainly 450 pointed ...... No interest ...
