Pick one bullet for 300 Blackout supersonic

I use the Sierra, 125 gr., Pro Hunter in my 7.62x40WT. ID prefer to use the Barnes,
But their ojives are too long and wind up below the case mouth.
According to Barnes, the Barnes TTSX, 110 gr. is designed to expand at higher speeds associated with larger 30 caliber cartridges and won't expand at the lower speeds of the 300BLK or 7.62x40WT.
Wilson Tactical sells a special Barnes 110 gr TTSX designed to expand as low as 1,400 fps, but with shipping and handling charges, it goes for $48.00 per 50. Too rich for my blood.
Barnes will not sell this bullet to the public, because of the contract with Wilson.
Barnes recmoments their TAC-TX bullet for the 300BLK and will expand down to 1,350 fps.
Just be sure you get their bullets designed for the 300BLK, if you go the Barnes route.

Good info.

Were I to hunt w/a 300 B/0 I would not balk at a buck/bullet since I might use 3 to sight in and 1 to kill.

The Wilson ammo is reasonable and is exactly like the 110 TAC-TX Barnes show on their website.

The bullet is available to handloaders from Barnes in 110 and 120 gr. called the TAC-TX and load data is on their website. There is also 110 etc TTSX which is different.

Fellow I spoke w/a Barnes sez Wilson and Barnes use it in their ammo.

I know.
I tell my brothers that the cheapest part of the hunt is the bullet that you shoot, so you might as well shoot the best.
I guess it's just the thought of the excess shipping and handling that bothers me.
Plus, I'd use a lot of them in load development.

The 110/120 TAC TX are 35 bucks/50 from Midway, bout like other premium bullets.

As for loads, 20 gr of H110 would shoot good enuf for any 300 B/O hunting application as it's a 150 yd envelope.

Gonna have to try some in my MGM bbled Contender rifle.

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried the Lee C309-113-F or the C309-150-F? I'm thinking about using my 16" AR for hunting, and I'd like to stay below 160gr if possible to keep velocities up. Both of those molds have a fairly prominent meplat, which is great for hunting but also might cause feeding problems. If anyone has experience with either, do tell. The C312-155-2R that's really popular for 7.62x39 is probably my first choice for a supersonic bullet other than the fact that the nose is shaped all wrong for hunting.

Then again, I'm a cheap Lee Molds kinda guy ;D

Feeding problems, if any, will likely come from the bulbous noses binding at the front of a Pmag rather than riding the feed ramps or going into the chamber. GI-type magazines or possibly the Lancers (of which I'm not a fan except for the Socom) would do better with fat, round-nosed or RFN-style bullets.

Not above modifying some pmags if necessary since they're so cheap these days. I think I'll pick one of these up and see what I can do with it.

I tried the saeco clone in my ar. It wouldn't feed at all. Mine is not an rg version.

I'm using the NOE 311-232-FN-AZ1 GC for subsonic in the 300 B/O in my Contender rifle. It's very accurate and carries well out to 300.
