Congratulations, Bret!

Brad,
How about giving Bret some sort of cheap trinket to go along with the free membership? I'll start the donations off with a dime.

A dime? Don’t know about that. Bret is a pretty simple man and I hate to get him something with too much bling.

The bling can be painted over, therefore, I'll up my donation to a quarter to help cover the cost of a can of spray paint.

we could drill a hole in it and hang it on a piece of kite string so he could keep it under his shirt.

We need to look at Bret and his needs.
We could take up a collection to buy him some post holes for his new posts. And I’m not talking partial holes, I mean the whole hole.

hey,, I know a guy up in Montana.
I bet he has a big box full we could trade something for and just cover shipping costs.

I thought he got rid of them and move them into the lube groove market.

I'm pretty sure he still has some out in the shed.
I know at one time he knocked a couple of boxes down and the little wide ones and the long deep ones got mixed up.
Bret might get a selection of both in the same box?

He cornered the lube groove market as I recall, then became the village horder, or beadmaker? I know a guy who could hook him up with a collector-grade Asperly Aimless, would look good over his furnace.

In the meantime I'll donate a very expensive post hole. Here ya go, Bret:

There is one small catch, freighting the hill to NY.....

That "Asperly Aimless" rates right up there with "Who's on first" as an all time classic.

Can you paint over lube groove bling?

I do it sometimes when I don't know what to do, should I hang on to the old, or grab on to the new?

Ya know, with Bret being a former law enforcement officer we could have Al get him a nice gift from across the nation. Something indicative of CA, maybe a nice Grateful Dead shirt?

freighting would be fairly easy.
getting the pick and rigging right,, now that's the hard part.
I imagine there might be some assembly on delivery.

Anyone know someone in a China who could write the assembly directions for assembling the hole? We could label it HF and paint it red.
