Primers are classified as "ORM-D" other regulated materials packaged in consumer containers. To offer it for interstate shipment, by any carrier, you must have a Federal license.

I know it doesn't make sense. As individuals, we can ship ammo as ORM-D, with the description of "Small Arms Ammunition". We can ship primed cases the same way, as Ric mentioned in original consumer packaging. But primers themselves, as well as smokeless or black powder are a no-go. That's the way the laws are written. I see guys on auction sites selling primers who obviously won't have a proper license. These guys are literally playing with fire. If bad anything happens that can be attributed to the primers, they will pay dearly for it.

There are people who do stupid things without consideration of the possible consequences. I suspect that none of the Gunbroker powder and primer sellers have taken the Haz-Mat shipping training/classes and have the appropriate license/authorization. They are interested only in making a fast buck.

I know for a fact that Gunbroker does not police Curio and Relic sales for possible ATF regulation and license irregularities and illegalities. I suspect it turns a blind eye to powder and primer sales, too, because this is just a repeat of 2008, 2012 and 2016. Could be Gunbroker is interested in making a fast buck, as well.

With their fee schedule, they have got to be raking in the money. C'mon man! 1 lb containers of CF223 for $130.00+? CCI small pistol primers $3-400.00/1K?

Plus shipping....

The Gunbroker Edition of The Babylon Bee. Perhaps the barracuda are running, I should try just outside the Point Loma kelp beds and see about some "logs".

Well you can always do it like me and my cousin did. I loaded him 200 primers in brass. Boxed them and shipped them as amunition thru UPS. Payed the hazmat small person to person shipment of ammo fee. Cost well under $20 and totally legal.
